Default Which would be be the best thing to do?

My DS is 5.5 months and super hungry. He hasn't put much weight on over the past month and i'm wondering which would be the best way to go?

Should i start a fair amount of solids while continuing to breastfeed?
    OR
Top up with formula instead while continuing to breastfeed?

    Thanks

If it were me I'd start solids and continue breastfeeding IF he is displaying signs he is ready, like interest in food etc.

My DD is also 5.5 months, very interested in solids (grabbing, really fixated on food, sips water from my glass when she reaches for it), also breastfed, and we started solids yesterday (Baby led weaning style).
