    Default Help required...new at IVF

Hi ladies..I am a 41 year old first timer on IVF. Having Gonal F Injections and Syneral Spray. My stomach has been hard for a few days and uncomfortable and suddeny it stopped. i panicked and thought I had lost the eggs and ovulated so I called the IVF centre and they said its probably just constipation but said come in for a blood test ( i was worried I had lost the 14 eggs I was growing).

Blood work revealed 14 level of Lh and 9 of Progesterone and they were all confused and said see my IVF docotor as they thought I had ovulated. Saw Speaclist today and he did a scan and folluces are ok and he said the level was fine and everything was good and he was angry they worried me over nothing........

Sorry to doubt him but they said my LH level should be 1....but it was 14....My IVF doctor said rubbish and he said it was fine....

Confused and worried...I trust him and he said everyone has various levels and as I am 41 its fine...I just dont want to find out at egg collection in a few days I ovulated...

Thoughs?? Just calm me down if u like!!

    xxx

Jassie- Every cycle I did I felt like I had ovulated early! I think it's actually really rare. I've only seen it happen on these threads a couple of times in over a year. I can't comment on the LH levels, but mine was 9 at the start of one cycle, so 14 sounds low. I think the base levels get higher the older we get.
Good luck and try to relax

http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html - this might help with the questions around levels. Hopefully it helps with understanding the whloe system. Don't worry about being confused - i still am and I've done 10 cycles. All the best.
