That's for paid parental leave. Baby bonus is different unfortunately.

Oh well fingers crossed they do it soon. Its hard being on one wage..... We decided that the baby bonus would be better for us because I worked for so long, 2 weeks before little miss arrived and we had saved money to tide us over. Grrrrr bloody government departments. Its been just over 3 weeks that I lodged the forms.

I wondered the same thing as I lodged mine through medicare. I rang a week ago and they said a month it takes. My daughter is 5 weeks old now and still nothing. I have been ringing family assistance but am on hold for up to 15mins so I hang up. It's annoying as we need the $$ as we are back to one wage too!

Sadly 15 minutes is good for them...
Don't hang up, yeah it's a pain - but so much easier than waiting.

Well was on the phone for 30mins waiting and finally got through this morning. Was told that now as claims department is in high demand it's up to 40days for a claim to be processed and then they will send a letter out.

In my experience I have received payment and then gotten a letter like a week later so keep checking. Also register for online services and your payment will show up a few days before it is due with the payment date
