Hi, I got a positive OPK on Friday the 5th. I am 3DPO and it seems like forever! This is our 11th month TTC and I just want it to happen. I am testing the 20th of January as we go away that weekend and it is likely to be full of drinking and eating out so I really need to know.

Hi Kelly, I'd like to join u ladies. 4dpo for me, well that's what I'm guessing as I had pos opks last we'd, thur, and fri.
Apparently I have pcos too which I find a bit hard to believe. but that's a really long story. So I'm like u and hoping that I have really O.
Hey maybe I can ask u, do u know what sort of tests they can do to see if u are actually releasing an egg? I'm sure a blood test but do u need to have so many on diff days past O. What hormones do they actually check for? Progestrone?
    Sorry for the 100 questions.
Looking forward to hearing about all the bfp in this group, FX ladies.

    Hi Hayles,

I was seeing a fertility specialist for my first pregnancy and she would ask me to come in when i got a positive OPK and do an internal ultrasound and then she would be able to tell if i was about to release an egg ..... i fell pregnant that same month

The only blood test i had was when they worked out i had PCOS and they tested all sex hormones like testosterone, progesterone and estrogen ..... as i recall

So I'm pretty sure OPK'S work even with PCOS

Thanks for that Kelly. I just don't understand how they would actually know if u are releasing an egg or not with an US. I thought women with pcos still gear up to O so a folical still enlargens but no egg is released???
I'm so confused with this pcos argh.

i don't think they can tell unless there is an ultrasound...... and i think the meds i take (metformin) are supposed to make my body ovulate instead of just gearing up to and nothing happening. the other thing is that if you do ovulate they egg can be of poor quality just too confuse things more so thats why meds are supposed to help
