And then progesterone pessaries every day until AF arrives (or I get a BFP - in which case I'm to keep taking them).

Do your OBs do blood tests as well as scans, or instead of? I just wasn't sure why I wasn't having blood tests, but I mentioned it to him when I was doing Clomid and he seemed to think there was no reason to. Thanks
    Hey girl x!

Its interesting that every FS does things differently. My old FS did scans and bloods each appointment on the injections. Think my new one is doing bloods first and then when estrogen rises to a level where there may be a good follicle then they will do a scan. A scan though is the safest thing as u can defiantly see how many follicles and their exact size. And u know that if your follicle is large, then your estrogen will be at a particular level. So I guess he feels he doesn't need to jab u each time, which makes sense! Also what kind of FS is he? Is he an ob/gyno?? Or is he in a FS clinic?? Perhaps they don't have a lab on site and it would take a lot of time and money to send the bloods away?? My FS clinic do everything on site, from semen analysis and bloods to ivf procedures. Its great cause I get results back in an hour or so.

Are u in a city? Or more rural?? That may make a difference too!!

Hi ladies just a quick update. Went to FS yesterday for BT then aparently their machine broken so they could not give anyone their results. i was so so angry!! Then they said to just keep going with Gonal F 75 and my HCG jab and ce in again monday because 'not much would of happened seeing your previous results'. I could of screamed at her.

Anyway i will go back monday. I did a OPK test yesterday, it showed up basically positive, do you think its to do with the HCG in my system?! We DTD anyway although they say don't until scan to see how many follies, but the idea is to get pregnant right?!? So we didn't want to miss it if that OPK was right.

Il let you ladies know how I go. And welcome babydust!! Hope everyone is travelling well!!!

How exciting!!!! Yes I did see your post on the clomid thread and was wondering if you were going to drop in!!

Hope that you can get onto it all soon! Bring on AF!!!!

Yes the metformin can be hard on your tummy!!! Are you on the slow release ones? 500?? Yes don't increase quickly!! You will pay for it!! HAHA

I too have quite low blood sugars, i am quite prone to hypoglycemia... my sugar levels drop extremely rapidly, especially in the mid afternoon... But funny enough, since starting the metformin 6 months ago, i have only had 3 hypos - Before I would get at least 2 or 3 a week, so this is HUGE!!! I didn't change my diet much, but i do admit, knowing that I am on the tablets gives me that extra push to make sure i eat a good meal, or i will end up on the floor!!
And I have also lost 5kg, so awesome!! Even know i was in the normal range before, now i am lower normal

Let us know how you are going!!! Usually the injections are started in the first few days of the cycle. Are you having IUI? Or old fashioned way?? I am seriously considering IUI, but DP is very keen to do a few cycles with the baby dancing only... Will see how moody I get, he might not be so keen to keep doing cycle after cycle without IUI if i'm moody!!

    Speak to you soon!!!

    Mam xo

Thank you girls for your warm welcome

Mam - yes i am on the slow release tablets. Yeah i will take it easy with metformin, as i don't want too many of those side effects LOL
I have also start to look into what i am eating, although i have been doing it for some time now.

Nah, im not doing IUI at this stage. Although my FS didnt talk about it. I hope i wont have to go down that path. For now will will be doing it the old fashioned way

My only problem now is, how do i manage it with work. My FS is in Melbourne CBD, and i work and leave in the South East, which is about 1 hour drive in one direction. Not sure how i will go about juggling it all. I really dont want to tell people at work. How did you ladies manage all this???

Thanks for your answer, Mam. I'm Brisbane based (well, that area anyway). My FS is an OB/GYN and Snr Fertility Specialist at the hospital. They can do everything there at the hospital, so I'm not sure why he doesn't do the blood tests. He has the ultrasound scanner thingy in his room though, so every time I see him he does a scan. (Which was awesome when I was pregnant with DD, as I got some extra scans!)

21andtrying - how frustrating! I would have been so upset too. I think the hormones in your system can give a false positive for OPKs and pregnancy tests, although I'm no expert. I think they usually say not to DTD too early as they want to minimise the risk of multiple pregnancies (e.g., if you had 5 follicles all waiting to go! ) If that were the case then they may advise to cancel the cycle and try next time. I'm not sure if there are any other reasons - that was the only one my FS gave me. (But I've only ever had 1 follicle develop - never more).

babydust27 - Sounds tricky with work. Could you confide in a manager perhaps? It wasn't an issue for me, as DH and I own our own business, so the first time around I just left when I needed to. This time around I am not in the office (I stay at home with DD now), so again no issue. DH raised some suspicion, as he comes to all appointments with me, and when he told people he was going to the dr with me they got worried that I was seriously ill! So we ended up coming clean and just telling them what was going on.

    Hey 21andtrying.

Im so sorry that you are not having a good cycle!! Its so hard when things are not going the way you planned and you get so frustrated!! Just remember, 62.5 is still quite a low dose! The first time i did an injections cycle, the minimum that i would react to was 75! Thats why they just started me on 75 this cycle. Even 100 is not classed as a high dose. Hopefully that bit of extra will kick everything into gear. If not, try not to be discouraged (even though its SO HARD not to!!!!), you will feel horrible for a while, but you will find the strength to refocus and try again.

I hope that you feel better soon, and i really hope that your ovaries start behaving!! Sending you loads of good vibes!!!

    Mam xoxo

21andtrying - Sorry to hear things aren't going so well. Hope that the 100 is the push your body needs to get going. Let us know how you get on with the scan tomorrow.

Mam83 - Great news! for this cycle!

Babydust27 - How long should the Provera take to work? Definitely good to get things started!

AFM - Now 7 days since IUI. I've had a few symptoms that make me hopeful, but I'm trying not to get too excited as I'm jumping at every twinge at the moment. Plus I've got into that mindset before, and then it's devastating when AF arrives.

I'm going to try to wait until next Monday before testing, as I'm scared of a false positive if I test too soon, and I don't want to test at the weekend when I can't immediately get a blood test if it's positive. Had a dream last night about having a baby. Crazy how this whole process just takes over your brain!
