    Default Spanish dinner party.

Anyone got any great EASY ideas for a Spanish dinner party..? So far we are doing Sangrias, Potato tortilla and Paella?
I'd love some really simple tapas ideas to serve as entree/canapé?

My friends and I have "ethnic" nights where we choose a different cuisine and everyone brings a dish along. For Spanish night we had:
    Garlic prawn tapas
Bread with aioli and mushrooms, grilled
    Spanish meatballs with tomato sauce
    Olives with lemon and chill
And I can't remember what else...

And we were supposed to have churros but I was too drunk to cook them properly! Deep fryer + drunkeness = bad idea!

You could do chorizo and baked eggs?

When I was in Spain my FAVOURITE tapas ever was strips of fried eggplant with honey or molasses drizzled over them then done under the grill until they were crispy. Delicious!!

I used to spend a lot of time in northern Spain, and in the region we were in they did a great salad:

Giant tomatoes cut into slices. Put the slices around the plate in a circle. On top of each slice put a slice of buffalo mozarella. On top of that put an anchovy (you can leave it out if you don't like it), then drizzle tapanade/ crushed olives over it all, and then a little balsamic and a little olive oil. So yummy...

Sardines done on the BBQ, calamari, baby octopus, marinated mushrooms, find some Serrano Jamon, olives olives and more olives, patatas brava (spicy potato wedges with garlic aoli, artichokes, croquetas, melon and ham, dates stuffed with an almond, wrapped in bacon and bake for 10 mins, empanadas, gazpacho, ajo blanco(cold garlic and almond soup).....

Have fun...... and maybe try a 'Tinto Verano' 1/2 glass of red wine, soda of your choice, ice and a slice of citrus..... YUMMY!!!!
