Shell- I did ask about Femara last time I seen my FS and he was pretty against it as an option. He said it nags and nags the ovaries until they finally give in and produce an egg. It sounds like what clomid does but I guess he knows best. He wants to skip IUI as an option as well because he said that the injections are costly and the whole process ends up being close to the costs of IVF anyway.

I'm thinking that if this cycle of clomid fails, I'm going to try all natural for a while and work on loosing the weight. I want to get down to 75kg (currently 83kg) before I start the IVF process.

Hi all, I'm still just quietly following along from over in the injections thread.
Just jumping in with my two cents for Family planner

If I'd done a year on clomid I'd be ready to move to IVF too!! So fully appreciate whatever you decide but just wanted to say you don't have to do iui with injections and it doesn't cost anywhere near what IVF does.

I'm doing injections with scans then a trigger shot then timed intercourse. Injections are $35 for 3 boxes which usually gets me through the cycle. I've read and hear that if you DP/ dh doesn't have sperm issues then chances are not that different between TI and IUI?

I'm currently in third cycle of TI with injections and will consider iui of this cycle doesn't work out but that said I only did two failed cycles of clomid before moving to injections and am only on 5th cycle all up so not ready for the expense of IVF this year.

You've done so well to survive a year on clomid! I wish you all the best with whatever comes next and hope to read of your BFP soon. Take care xx

Currently on day 4 of first clomid cycle after taking primolut for seven days. I was just wondering how long AF stayed around for you guys? Seems like its gone on day 4 - which i find strange given that i hadnt had one for over 4 months!!

I also started taking my temp and its been 36.5 for the last three days, but today was 36.7.. what the hell i didnt think it was suppose to rise until later towards ovulation???

Hey prinny. Mine was for 4 days also. If your body isn't producing progesterone on its own, your endometrium won't thicken. So chances are your lining was built up a little by the primolut but there wasn't much to start with.

Your temp should go up on primolut because it's progesterone and mine was slightly higher on clomid. But now with my first month of ovulating its gone up heaps - 36.9. So I think you will experience a bigger shift later on. Are you feeling ok on it?

I'm 6dpo I think. The wait is torturous!!!!

    Hi all!

well I finally got to see my FS this morning as he had to go deliver a baby yesterday.

the swimmer test from my DP was binned by the collection centre as apprently they dont do sperm samples.. would have been handy to know that 5 weeks ago!!!! so now he has to do that again and drop it at Murdoch hosp when ever he is free next.

on my side my left ovary is the bady and the right is ok. but the FS said that if I dont fall preg or ovulate in the next 2 months then he will refer me for IVF.. he has kept me on the same mg of clomid and organised a blood test on CD21 to see if I did O or my progestrone levels change..

he said not to worry about vitex as from what he has found its had very little effect.. and only recommended uptake of folate and iron which im already taking..

my DP and I are looking to drop some serious weight also so fx that helps..

Petepie how long have you been on clomid? Are you having scans to see if you're growing a follicle? I hear losing just a bit of weight can really help. IVF is a last resort in my opinion, especially of you've only just found out about the PCOS.

SparkyB do exciting and thanks for letting us know!! Bet you can't wait for the scan

Prinnyc, I'm not getting a blood test but temps are definitely indicated ovulation. I've had cramps today... I think I ovulated on CD15 which was 7 days ago. I'm not going to test until 14dpo.

MiniRoo why is this your last try?
