Welcome greenfairy! You are most welcome here Pcos is a frustrating thing to have which not a lot of people understand - but there is so much support on here from people who know what you are going through - plus plenty of success stories to keep you going when you think you want to give up! I hope your stay here is a short one

Im the same - diagnosed last may, too much for me to process so stopped ttc for a few months. Back to fs in jan which gave me provera and clomid. Didnt end up taking the clomid yet as going to africa next week to malaria areas, but now waiting for proper af to arrive to start clomid! Hopefully we'll become cycle buddies!!

    Enjoy your week!!

Hi Greenfairy. Welcome aboard the PCOS TTC train.
If your DH is anything like mine, he seems more blaze about it then I stress about it and it drives me mad - so you're in the right place lol.

I'm not on Provera or Clomid, nor have I seen a FS yet. My journey so far is a short one and I'm not up to that stage (hopefully I don't get there! ) So I'm no good in giving advice with that stuff lol. But ask me anything about Metformin, I seem to know a bit about that at least.

Good luck Greenfairy. Hopefully your visit here is a short one!!

    Thanks Shackles and Merl.
I have to be honest and say that up until this point I really hadn't found this whole PCOS thing too devastating. I knew when I came off the pill that there wasn't much point getting too full on dtd all the time or getting too stressed out about TTC until I had some sort of cycle so have just been waiting waiting waiting for that, then when it didn't happen I went to the doc and just happened to find an awesome one who diagnosed it fairly quickly.

Then I had a 3 month wait to see the FS which was ok initially but was dragging on with 2 weeks to go. I was excited to get going on the meds but now I just feel like Provera is going to drag every cycle out. I am also struggling with yukky acne on my chin and very fine hair - things I have not had to deal with previously while I was on the pill and things that DP just doesn't get how they can upset me!

Merl, I am not on Metformin at this point, I am healthy BMI (around 60kg) so we are trying 3 rounds first without it but I have had the glucose test and will get results of that at my CD12 appointment.

Do you girls know if the Clomid will help my cycles go normal or will I have to do two weeks of provera after day 28 each time if af doesn't show? I am not getting my hopes up for first round bfp! Also does any of this medication help with skin or do I just have to wait until I finish TTC and go back on the pill for it to clear?

I do feel very lucky in this whole thing that I have been diagnosed straight up and have had an amazing GP and now seem to have a fantastic FS, I am hopeful that this jouney will continue to be straight forward despite a few obstacles along the way.

Have an amazing trip to Africa Shackles! a break away will be great and you can come back with renewed strength for this bumpy ride.
    Baby dust to you both

    Welcome Green Fairy.

Clomid is meant to induce of ovulation so if it works as it should then you should O and then have AF show up on her own. However if the dose isn't high enough, you won't O and will have to take Provera. I actually take primolut which is one tablet a day for 5 days. Maybe ask your doctor about it?

This has been my clomid cycles so far:
50mg- No O followed by taking primolut.
100mg- Poor quality O and AF came on her own.
150mg- Great O but didn't catch that eggy and AF came on her own.
150mg- No O followed by taking primolut to induce AF.
150mg- No O followed by taking primolut to induce AF.
200mg-Finished clomid today and have everything crossed that I get a good O.

I think this will be my last round of clomid as it's not working very well for me. I can't really help with the acne and hair growth as it's not something I suffer from sorry.

Don't let the diagnosis of PCOS get you down. You will have success, it's just your path that may differ.

Just gonna add that when I did actually O, it wasn't until around CD19-20 so if you are meant to get a day21 test done, it's better to wait until you're 7DPO.

Shackles- I get hot flashes occasionally but generally don't experience any other symptoms. I haven't had any hot flashes this cycle yet which concerns me because now I think that it's not working but oh well I'll soon find out one way or another.
