Thanks familyplanner and nabz... Its weird cos i was supposed to take clomid this cycle, but decided with dh to wait until april after a trip to visit family in africa... I may be completely wrong, but thinking i may have o'd all by myself?? Time will tell i spose as we dtd quite a lot this weekend thanks for your posts!
do you mind if i join ?
I have PCOS and will be TTC in May while we are on our honeymoon. I'm so excited I could burst. I've wanted a baby since I was 18 but finished my degree, bought a house and am getting married first. It's felt like such a long wait.
I'm on metformin ; supposed to be on 500mg three times a day but i only manage to ever take 1 or 2. I've also got hashimotos thyroiditis so this whole TTC business could be hard work. I am trying to prepare myself for a long journey.
I weigh 50kg so weight loss isn't really an option to improve chances. I try and exercise regularly and take my meds. My endocrinologist suggested i try for 6 cycles on metformin alone and if i'm not pregnant then i can come back and get clomid.
We TTC for 2 months a year ago and nothing happened so i am tempted to try for 4 months and then go back bit naughty. I'm terrified of getting twins though so may keep trying naturally a bit longer.
Looking forward to getting to know you all
to all and good luck those testing
I've had a bit of a lengthy (few months!) break from the boards... I had a tough few months, so decided to lay low with hubby, and try and 're-group'...
Anywho, back now... and ready to tackle things fresh!
Will you take me back?? hehe
In my world.... Finally got rid of my terrible specialist, and through the waiting list for my new one... and he ROCKS!!! Lovely man, and made us feel more supported in 20mins than we have for the last two years anywhere else.
The wait of Christmas for our new appt was tough, and we had some down days, but I think hubby and I are closer for it, and are relishing in time just by ourselves when we can!
Am currently going through first monitored clomid cycle.
Was on Clomid (up to 200mg) for 7 months with previous Doc, with no 'O' whatsoever, so wasn't holding much hope for this month!
New Doc put me on 100mg with monitoring. Daily (or almost) bloods and checking...
We have an amazing nurse through Hunter IVF who has been such an awesome support, and who has given us the energy to keep our heads up!
I got a call last week to say my levels were only barely over baseline, and they thought the month was a write-off, so was pretty upset...
BUT got a call on saturday to say my levels went through the ROOF! Yay!
Went in again on sunday, and was told i still may not surge on my own, so they did an internal ultrasound and found lining of 12, and a follie of 17... So I got my first trigger shot!
Then, I got a call on the way home to say my sunday levels said I was surging on my own anyway!
So excited, it's my first month in two years this has happened!!
Not getting my hopes up, but praying hard this is it...!
It's just getting harder and harder emotionally...!
Anyway, enough about me....! I'm off to read back a bit and see how you are all doing, and try and catch up!!
Looking forward to being a more involved thread member again!
TO YOU ALL!!!
Just thought I would updated everyone. I am due to see my fertility specialist this wekk (lean PCOS) but started to feel a bit sick (bloating, nauseous, stomach cramps). I thought I might be having my first period (for about 6 months) but did a pregnancy test and got a BFP!!! I have ovulated and conceived on my own! I am 3 weeks pregnant - fingers crossed everything goes well.
Just thought I'd let people know that these random acts of good luck to happen sometimes
Congratulations Bella!!! That's wonderful news!!
I wish you a safe and healthy pregnancy!
Onya Bella!! Congrats
Congrats Bella! Wishing you a H&H pregnancy
I have a question.
I'm 12DPO with tests coming back negative (I've become a POAS addict) I'm showing symptoms of pregnancy such as frequent urination, tender boobs, nausea (unbelievable nausea!!!!), constipation one minute, diarrhea the next.
My question is: I'm on Metformin for the first time. Could these symptoms also be side-effects for the Metformin I've been taking for the last 4 weeks? Any advice would be great - I'm doing my head in with the questions and poor hubby can just shrug
Edit: When I first started taking Metformin I was extremely unwell for a week. Those symptoms eased off to nothing. The latest batch of symptoms have been active for 10 days now
