Default My temp did not rise this month..does this mean no ovulation?

    Hi ladies,

I'm relatively new to charting BTT but for the last 2 months there has been a rise in my temp after ovulation around day 15 which coincided with CM...this month there has been CM but no rise in temps... does this mean I didn't ovulate this month?

    thanks for the help!

Possibly, but it could also be caused by something else. I'm not an expert but according to FF it could possible be your thermometer...maybe it needs a new battery?

Hi Ellie82! Do you use an online tool to chart? If so, would you mind posting a link so I can check it out? I'd love to give you the best answer I can, and I'd have to see exactly what you're chart has been doing. x

Thanks DarcyJ...unfortunately, I'm using a mercury one so no batteries I only started using the mercury one on the suggestion of a fertility specialist.

I would highly recomend getting digital thermometer with a .00 decimal. Your temp rise may only be minor and having the thermometer got to .00 wll pick up the smallest change.

I had a quick look at your chart and I don't think you've come into your fertile window yet. Do you have regular cycles? Not everyone will O on the same CD every cycle.

Thanks Ellie! From looking at your chart, I would say you're still waiting to ovulate. Not all women have a textbook cycle, meaning fertile CM, followed by a temp spike and continued elevation. In my case, I tend to have fertil CM for a week, then it might disappear for a day or two and my temp will rise slowly over 2 or 3 days, then have a nice big spike. Fertility Friend will wait until you've had 3 consecutive temps that are higher than all the rest for that month, before it confirms ovulation. It would seem that from your temps so far this month, your average is between 36.3 and 36.5, so you're looking for temps possibly around 36.7 or 36.8 after ovulation. Correct?

I would agree with Zultbear about getting a digital BBT. I picked mine up from the chemist, and it's a proper BBT that gives a very accurate reading. It only cost $10 or $12 I think. She's also right about not always ovulating on the same day every month. Some women are very lucky and always ovulate on the same day, but for the majority of us, it will vary by a few days.

So, keep temping and making as many notes as you can. All the data you collect now will help in later months, if you're still TTCing. Best of luck! x

    Hi MyTurnNow,

I have read a couple of threads now that you have replied to. And you seem to have a fair bit of knowledge on charting I was wondering if you could please have a look at my chart and see what you can make of it. I had a large temp spike but this could be due to the fact that i had a cold at this time. My chart seems to think that I o'd before my pos OPK and Monitor result which has me a little confuse. Do you think I should change the setting from advanced to OPK/Monitor for a more accurate analysis?

    Here is my chart
