Occasionally people think my name is the pretty version and I have to correct them. Some people (like my MIL and come to think of it my DH too) insist on spelling it the pretty way every time they write me a card or letter, no matter how many times I correct them.

Geez that sounds bad - seriously DH, learn my freaking name

I shorten my name to Jo, I don't mind Jo, and most of the people in my life use Jo but I hate when it gets spelt as Joe Or more recently by FIL Jhoe - Wtf.lol.

I just searched and *gasp* never! No one has ever put it on their possibilities list, no one has ever had a birth thread with "here is our gorgeous abcde" {haha my name is not Abcde by the way }, no one has ever, ever- in the history of BH, wanted to call their child my name!

It's not even like it's a weird name- it's a biblical name (lesser known) and there are quite a few famous people with the name (ok, two spring to mind ) and AFAIK it's growing in popularity again.

Interestingly, there is an ex-BHer who shares a name with me- I didn't know she had the same name

A few good threads popped up that have my name in it though, thanks to this ex-hubber... might have to do a new version of them soon

    Forkie, yes. It's A n n a l i s a

lol I have only ever met an Annalise (even autocorrect changes my name to that). Everyone has trouble spelling it. Or they hyphenate it.

I have rarely come across another one
Can I ask what yr you were born? The ones I have met are the same age or close to me.

I rarely hear it used either - it should be! It's a wonderful name hehe
