    Default Thrush early pregnancy

    Hi i have thrust and am only 4 weeks pregnant anyone got any remedies that work, have tried the yoghurt thing before and hasnt worked.......is there any medications that are safe?

    Go to a pharmacist, they will advise you. Thrush in early pregnancy is very common and there is over the counter medicine that will clear it up.

    thanks I tried the chemist they said there was nothing and my GP is booked out this weekend. Maybe I will try another chemist today

    You can use canistein (sp?) treatments, if it keeps happening I would look into why, also don't forget to treat your partner*.

    *if he is showing symptoms.

    And I would suggest taking a good probiotic (you can also insert vaginally) and avoid yeast products like bread and Vegemite for a while

    U can take canisten cream- u just can't use the applicator! I'd go to a different chemist!

    Dr said to use canestan and apply with the finger . You can insert it a little with your finger. She said to stop using toilet paper and use a cotton bud with cetaphil cleanser. But don't flush the bud ! Always pop into bin .

    Thanks so much everyone!!!! Will confirm with the dr in the morning but at least I know there is something that is safe. Canisten cream usually works really well for me.
