Hi I'm just wondering what to expect on my first ivf visit? Both dp and I have had our tests done and it all seems ok so in theory it should just happen but we are now 8 months in so off to ivf we are being sent.

Hi there you will meet maybe with your specialist and she/he will discuss what happens they will then discuss next steps, counselling/police checks/fees, which type of cycle you will be doing eg ICSI or IVF but if you have been through all of this most likely you will meet your nurse and start discussion on your drug plan. Please let me know if I can help in anyway I'm happy for you to PM me I've been through it with two bubs

Our work covers our medical costs and no police checks required. What is ICSI?

ICSI is when they inject sperm in to the egg. There are many forms if IVF some are left to fertilize of their own in the dish, sometimes they introduce to sperm to you at the right time and sometimes they take the eggs out and do ICSI, inject the sperm this is what we did it depends on your fertility issue but this is a very common path! Very lucky all your expenses are looked after! Best of luck on your first appointment! Let us know how you go xx

I'm all over the place! My original plan was to ICSI ivf in July and spend this next few months eating right and upping my fitness the doctor is fone with is proceeding without this it was my personal choice but I couldn't sit around and do nothing not ttcing so I've contacted the bank to get the house valued to borrow money for treatment and part of me wants to start as soon as the money comes through

I will feel better knowing we have a plan. I think it's the unknown that causes so much stress. I know we still won't have total control but at least some of the mystery may be put to rest lol

I'm trying not to think of it but yeah I'm a little excited to be moving forward at last
