Default Any success stories on FET (using HRT??)

    Hi all

I'm currently on my first FET cycle. I'm on day 5 and have been taking 25units puregon. Unsure as to what day transfer (frozen blastocyst) will be.. I'm sure I will find out after my blood test next week.

I've always thought fresh cycles were more successful (info found from googling, DD was also from fresh cycle) hopefully I am wrong!!

Anywhos would love to hear any positive stories or advice!!

    Thanks!

    Hi positive

I never got to have a fresh cycle (severe OHSS) - so I have only had FETs.

DS was the result of FET #6 - however it was the first FET after undergoing a barrage of tests after 5 failed FETs - all gd quality blasts. Turns out alongside the PCOS I also had a gene thing - (I can't remember MTH4R or something like that?!?!?!?) and ANAs...so once I got put on a drug cocktail to fix that, we got our BFP 1st go after that.

We are now TTC #2 - 2x failed FETs but #3 has ended up as a BFP again (currently at 6weeks +2....so still very early days yet....).

From my research the success rate is not quite as high as fresh, but certainly not statistically significant enough to worry about...

In any case, even if it meant you would have to do an extra FET or 2 to achieve the same probability of success, financially FETs are cheaper than full stim cycles anyway...so it all balances out...!!!

Fingers crossed for you!!! And stay "positive" because it's VERY do-able!!!

    Hi there,

I have only ever had FET's due to OHSS. 1st FET after OHSS (the very next month) did not work but the following month I had my BFP with DD. That was a natural FET cycle though.

This year I had my 3rd FET with HRT and am now 16 weeks PG As they say 2 out of 3 ain't bad

I personally like FET's better as it is less stressful on the body etc. I felt calmer during my FET's than during the Stim cycle.

    Best of Luck

    Hi Positive,

I did my first ever FET straight after an IVF cycle. My cycle was really long after the IVF so I was on 25 units of Gonal F. I didn't have the transfer until CD35 and so I was convinced it wouldn't work.

Now I am 13 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I still can't believe it!

I wish you all the luck in the world!!

hi Salgan! CONGRATS!! thats fantastic news!

My situation is actually a little similar to yours. Im doing my first FET straight after an ivf cycle. It took about 50 days for my period to arrive after the ivf (probably my PCOS!?) so im on 25 units of puregon...not sure if its the same as gonal f?? not sure when transfer will be, had a blood test this morning so waiting for clinic to call.

Hopefully my lil FET will be a winner!! thanks again for sharing!! n all the best for the rest of ur pregnancy!! xox
