Sadly I have heard of a La-a too (La-dash-ah) so its a bit terrifying that it's gaining momentum.

    You're welcome shinebrite.

Also I just want add if anyone ever wants to know the name my parents gave me I am happy to say via pm.but I will not post it as I have had stalkers in the past, one or two who never really stop, so I don't want it searchable.

    Gosh almighty.

The strangest names I know of, is of a friend who inserts random 'y's in all of her children's names - i.e.: Cayte, Blayke, Jaymie, Staycey...eek.

    That's what I was thinking!

As for Xavier (pp mentioned it has a silent E), the pronounciation "ex-avier" is not a silent E, it's actaully the "x" being pronounced "ex".

No, it doesn't stand for non-applicable (as was originally assumed when the parents put it on the registration forms)...it is pronounced....wait for it....

    Na-dash-ah.

    Dead serious.
I've seen the name L'a-May. I did laugh, then felt really bad for the kid.

My cousins daughter goes to school with a girl named shi..thead. Put it together and it spells a naughty word. ( there are no spaces etc) But yes the th is pronounced together not separately thank goodness. My question is though wt* were her parents thinking. Poor thing.
