Your Ob is sooo wrong. Each and everyone of us is unique and individual as you can see from the posts.

I exclusively and demand fed both my daughters and both times AF returned a few weeks after lochia ceased. I have fallen pregnant whilst breastfeeding both of them too.

    Your OB is wrong!

I got mine back at 6 months with DS1 and roughly 4 months with DS2...exclusively breastfeeding on demand both times. My DS2 was still feeding every 2-3 hours throughout the day and night when AF returned.

DS1- nearly 4 months, we caught the second egg.

DS2- about 14months, I was tandem nursing about 10 times a day and it took a few months for it to appear regularly after my first one.

DD- still waiting at 5 months, tandem nursing but only 1-2 times a day.

Could just be break through bleeding Mi would not fuss unless it smells funky or is accompanied by unusual pain/fever.

Sorry for all the questions, but I thought breakthrough bleeding only happened when pregnant? I do not think I am pregnant...

I CANNOT believe your OB told you that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you please take him some literature about it next time??? I really dislike people in 'positions of influence' giving out totally incorrect information as though it is gospel...

    Or report him, even better!!

You really don't believe it? my GP tried to tell me you couldn't get pregnant while breastfeeding too and that my hormone levels would be to high...funny I managed to get utd 3 times while doing it and my hormone levels where fine..it's a shame breastfeeding doesn't make anyone money, maybe there would be a bigger push for research and education do that these care providers could provide accurate information.
