    Angry passport photos

so passport photos have to be flat lighting, angry glares at the camera.
how on earth do you get a baby to do that?
you can probably get a baby to cry
a baby will smile when he sees you
a baby never has his mouth closed

Passport office is a lot more lenient with children especially young babies. If you can get them basically straight on with their eyes open its generally ok. As long as their mouth isn't wide open, or their head isn't turned to the side you should be fine

Apparently if you blow air towards the bub's face and immediately take the photo, you'll get the right expression and just sit them on your lap and drape a white cloth over yourself to get the background right.

When we did ours they layed the baby on the floor with special sheet underneath then took the photo. It was the stunned expression they where after.

while I was trying the photos on my (cream) couch (which I hope is OK, or I'll PS out the cream), he kept bicycling his feet like crazy! ended up taking a video instead.
any i have probably 100 expressions now and I think one serious look as he was doing his poo.

btw yesterday he leaked about an icecream scoop sized poo onto our bed...

just have to find someone used to taking them of babies.

Had one done of my 9month old, the lady in the shop had me move out of sight of my son and she had the shot within 2 clicks

i'd put off going for months and months as he is very expressive~

As a PP has said, they are pretty lenient with baby photos. One of the biggest things is to make sure there is no shadows in the photo, or they will be rejected.

So long as there is no shadows, baby has it's eyes open and is facing the camera, on a white background, it'll be fine.

If you're lodging at a Post Office, ask them to check the photo for you first before you lodge.

Backgrounds fine to be cream also or any light colour doesn't specifically have to be white
