Default Toilet Training for PDDNOS - Help please!

My son is about to turn 4yrs. He will happily sit on the toilet and do a wee, too scared to do poo yet, but I am happy with that as I have not really pushed any TT.

He is due to start main****** kinder this year & I would like to attempt to TT him over the next few weeks to see how he goes.

I am desperately after advice from those of you who have gone through this before. My DS has the receptive/expressive vocab of approx. 2.5yr old. He works well with visual prompts & I have tried to find a good DVD on the topic but haven't managed to yet (if you know a really good one please advise!)

    TIA

Hi and sympathies to you - we've had/got the same battle going on with our 4yr old. I was loaned a DVD from the Diverse Learning Centre called 'Tom's Toileting Triumph' which was useful. It didn't work miracles but definitely helped. Maybe you could ask around for that?

We use this DVD in the ECDP (early childhood developmental program) where I teach .. its animated, but very graphic about toilet use .. I can NOT recommend it enough ..

I believe its sold through the SA govt?? but if you google Toms Toileting Triumph it will pop up .. its not the cheapest dvd .. $30??? but you can buy COMPLETE packs, or just the dvd - so the choice is yours ..

I've seen kids make HUGE connections due to this dvd ... love it
