Default Sedan big enough? for 3kids 2adult family - looking for lots of opinions

tossing up between sedan and wagon - sedans are cheaper... Will it be too small?

Looking at holden omega sedan - its a big sedan... Kids will be 5,3 and a new bub.

When is your sedan too small? Is it ok? would you fork out more (3K) for the wagon. Itsonly the boot space thats limited.

I would get a wagon over a sedan. Once you have a pram in the boot then add a weeks worth of groceries for 5, space is important. Happy car shopping

Go the wagon I'm hoping to get one in the next few month just for a little more boot space
I currently have a sedan which does have enough room in the back for 3 car seats and the boot has enough room for a pram and some shopping ( i like to shop fortnightly so there is a lot of shopping and then add a box of nappies and big bag of dog food the space gets tight) so a wagon would give me a bit more space

I have 2 under 2 and am going to get an Odyssey and treat it like a 5 seater with a huge boot most of the time.

Makes it more flexible for when we have extras.

Ford Falcon xr6 - We easily fit 3 carseats across the back and 2 adults in the front quite easily and there was still plenty of room in the boot for a double pram and all the shopping, plus anything else we needed. Plus it looks great and does pretty well on fuel.

I would go a sedan they are much safer with heavy items in the boot ,you can have a barrier with a wagon but you loose room with that and in some wagons the child restraints attach on the middle of the boot or across the boot so you have no room for a pram or luggage. There is so many makes that I like that there is too many to list so i will list the sites i go to to check out the specs of cars www.redbook.com.au and http://www.caradvice.com.au/ and there is reviews of most cars and economy ratings etc on most cars too. Just reread your post , I wasnt impressed with the holden ,used too much fuel and cost more than my BMW to service and fix plus the seats are uncomfortable jmo

We've got 2 in carseats and a teenager, so we went with a Ford Mondeo wagon (child restraints clip onto back of seats, no loss of boot space). We went with a wagon because of boot space.

I wasn't keen on spending the extra few thousand just for a wagon, but now that we've got it I'm so glad we did.
