    Default Women's & Children's hospital

Hi All, I will be getting ready to ring the info line to get my referral to the hospital for my first appointment, I really want to have this baby at W&CH as I had my son there a year and a half ago but I think we are a couple of KM's closer to Lyell McEwin where we live now. Does anyone know how close you need to live to W&CH to be referred there?

I lived in wynn vale and thsy said I had to go to the lyell, so i used a friends address who lived in Felixstow and they still said I had to go to the lyell yet I have a friend who lives I. Ingle farm who was allowed to go to wch. I had to have my first appointment at modbury hospital and I said I wanted to go to wch because of a specialist they have there, which was true. I hope you get to go to your hospital of choice best of luck.

My closest is LMH too (I probably live 5mins away from it at Eliz Park) but I've opted to go to Gawler instead.

Even if you have your antenatal appts at LMH or the GP (if you're having shared care) WCH can't refuse to deliver bub if you rock up in labour.

Thanks for the replies, my sister in law is also pregnant and lives at Valley View and she has been sent to W&CH so I think I will use her address to get my booking number. I will have to have a c section so it will be booked in so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to rock up once I go into labor. I think I am very early on still but GP wants me to book appointment ASAP as I got pregnant on the pill so the dates are not 100%, will find out where they send me tomorrow.
