    Just new to bubhub.

TTC first child for 4 months.
Weight was 102kg, got it down to 86, then gained some Currently 91 (BMI 36).
First goal (I only have one) was to reach 72kg (BMI 28).
FS recommended I start IUI immediately and worry about my weight later (ie diet after having a baby) as worried that my low egg reserve is a bigger risk than my weight.
I still want to work on losing weight, especially as I gained 5kg

How ydo you diet/lose wieght when trying to be healthy to conceive / carry a baby?

    Hi FurBabyMum,

We were TTC our first child for over 6 years and after much testing had to resort to IVF. And one of the criteria is that you must have a BMI under 35, so with that in mind I set off to lose weight which I most certainly did. At my heaviest I was 127kg, and over the years with the help of a gastric band and Jenny Craig, I got down to my all time low of 83kg. So because of that, we were allowed to do IVF and finally after an absolute TTC rollercoaser, I am now an extreamly proud Mama Bear to a gorgeous 23 week old baby girl! So if I can do it, you most certainly can too.

    Best of luck Hun. xx

Thank you hopefulmum! So glad you got your little baby!!! And well done on such weight loss! Noone has mentioned a BMI requirement for IVF - does everyone have that requirement? I guess I need to get cracking then just in case!

thank you for the encouragement and inspiration!

oooh one more question - do stimulated cycles / IVF drugs make you put on weight?

Anyone want to buddyup or have a thread where we can discuss exercise and help motivate each other re weightloss/weight maintenance?
