    Default Just a quick question...

Just wondering how some women came to the definite decision to be an egg donor?
I would love to help someone but I'm still finding it all a bit confusing.

I decided I wanted to donate found someone who then went on to have a baby boy from donated embyos but as there were only 2 embryos she was happy to know I was still there. I decided to as if I was on the other side and unable to have children I would have liked knowing someone was there for me. To me the eggs are just a cell till conception be that in me or someone else.

Do you have children? Do you have to wait until you are done having children before you can donate?
Is there any chance it can effect your fertility?
I only have one baby but want more in the future.

im not maternal at all, yet when i saw a huge ad in the paper for a donor i replied - i didnt even give it a thought. And now 17yrs later it is with alot of sadness that after 42 cycles i now have hung up my ovaries from donating successfully and now help those looking for a donor. apart from having my own child, for me personally donating is the best thing i have ever done - very very satisfying - to see how people try to cope with the realisation they may never have a child and then later when they are all proud and happy and want to show off thier offspring to you. It is a very personal decision and one to really think about carefully and thoroughly. Please Pm me if you would like a more personal account

hi, coming from the other side - that is trying to find a angel to donate to us - i would say the fact that you are thinking about it already makes you a good and wonerful person

having recently joined different forums on egg donation there are a lot of couples out there looking for people like yourself that could possibly go through the process of donating their eggs at no gain to themselves other than knowing that they have helped create a new little family.

good luck on your discision making
