Default 80's fancy dress costume --help!!

    Hi everyone
So we've just decided that we're going to a party for NYE-- only problem is that it's 80's themed & I'm 32 weeks pregnant!!!
I have tomorrow to pull a costume together, that fits over my massive belly!!

    Any ideas????

Hair- the bigger the better tease/ crimp all you can!

I would probably do a miniskirt, leggings (colored if you can find them) a plain black top (or if you can get hold of a t-shirt with an 80s band on it from your DP or someone I'd wear that) dangly earrings and heaps of jewellery. Google some pictures of 80s jewellery- it looks a LOT like the stuff you'd find in Diva or any of those cheap jewellery shops at the moment don't forget black bracelets (and lots of them) too (like Madonna!) add leg warmers and/ or shoulder pads if you can get hold of them!

If miniskirt/ leggings don't work I'd do jeans, make them as skinny leg as possible- apparently in the 80s people would safety pin the bottoms of their jeans to make them even skinnier, so go right ahead with that! They'd look very 80s with white tennis shoes or something...Oh or if you can find any waist high pants they're always good to use too!

Check out what's left of the boxing day sales, it's amazing how much 80s stuff seems to have come back in fashion in the past year- you might find some colored leggings or jewellery going cheap!

    Enjoy the party!

My little munchkin due May 2012! So to keep me busy till then, I'm learning how to use my iPhone.

yeah, leggings and a huge oversized t-shirt, the brighter the better and make sure you wear it off one shoulder. Tease your hair up as big as you can and chuck on some blue eyeshadow and big chunky earrings. Too easy

Yep as above - got my costume for an 80s party at supreme a while ago, and I'm a bigger girl and it still fit. Even wear a plain colored maternity singlet under the fluorescent off the shoulder t shirt.

i think BIG hair and over the top bright makeup would be fine i'm sure people will excuse you for not being entirely in costume!

Pregnant 80's to me always screams overalls. Fitted bib and brace ones if possible.

or tights and an oversized top.

Go the Madonna look with strings of beads, an off the shoulder T- shirt and lace ribbon in your teased hair, or go early 80s with a punk look - black lippy, coloured hairspray and a ripped shirt.

Costume sorted baggy Fluro orange tshirt (thanks big w men's ware!) that I've cut the neck out of so it's off the shoulder. Leggings. Borrowed cons high tops from a friend. Coloured socks scrunched down. And some hideous plastic coloured chunky jewllery from diva hair in a side pony & blue eye shadow.

All this for a party I'll probably leave early to come home to sleep b4 new years

Thanks for your suggestions ladies. Happy new years
