If I'm staying in a self-cntained holiday house and/or unit, I probably clean too much, however if I'm in a Motel or Hotel, I just tidy up, make the beds, remove all the towels etc to place in bath tub and wipe down tables/benches etc.

Tidy. They pay cleaners to clean. They will do it anyways

Exactly this. I try and leave it as I would like it to be left if I was the owner or cleaner.

I clean as I go anyway - sweep floors, wipe surfaces, empty bins, make beds and that sort of thing daily. I always make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are clean - I don't scrub on my hands and knees but we tidy up as we go. We are in one on the Gold Coast at the moment and I have just swept the floors actually.

The way some people leave holiday accommodation is disgusting. Some people are feral pigs, there is no need to leave things filthy.

I don't clean but I tidy. So all rubbish is in the bins and taken out, nothing laying around. But towels just stay on the bathroom racks and sheets on the bed etc. I like to think that they would vaccum, mop and re-clean dishes anyways, regardless of if it looks done or not so I don't bother.
