    How old is your daughter? If she is over 6 you have to work 15 hours a week or more to qualify, if she is 8 you will be put on newstart, not pps, and still have to meet the work/study/training requirements.

    Thanks SAB... My daughter is a bit over 6 and a half. I don't mind having to work, it's not about not working.. I'm just hoping I can get assistance while I work part time and find a job that's enough to support myself full time and still be able to take my daughter to school etc

    Thanks so much guys... I guess I'll ring and try and get an appointment with a social worker.. Do I just contact centrelink like normal on the phone and ask for an appointment, or do I need to go into an office?
    You just call Centrelink and they will make an appointment for you to come in and see one. They usually ask if you have a preference for male/femal social worker.
