Default What did you GIVE for christmas?

They say Christmas should be about the joy of giving, so what did you give that gave you more joy than what you got from receiving a gift?

I gave my parents an iPad because they've been so good to me.

DP's 40th birthday was a few days before Christmas so I bought him an iPad for that and some Riedel glasses, lindt chocolates and a new video game for Christmas.

Needless to say, I am pretty broke now, but seeing their faces was so worth it!

I made my mum and step dad a homemade chocolate treat gift basket- chocolate salami, truffles, hazelnut spread (a bit like nutella but homemade) and some alcohol. Oh and as a joke gift a thermomix brush, she was using mine to clean my neices bottles and said it was really strong and she wanted one.

We got my neices books (colouring and reading) new pencils, a hungry hippo game, a necklace and bracelet each. My baby neice got a fisher price roll along snail thing and some clothes.

There the only people we celebrated with this year which was nice, I usually force myself to go to a huge family gathering and end up regretting it.

Haha! Thats exactly what I gave my mum! and for the exact same reason. All my life I have got the most amazing stuff in my stocking and I look forward to it way more than all the other presents as its a real reflection of how thoughtful my lovely mum is. (except for the blardy coloured popcorn!)

So this year, for the first time I filled one for her. Cost me about $200 all up and she loved every little thing. Made me feel awesome.

I gave away a lot of good things this year. I think my BIL liked his Red Bubble Space Lego tshirt best though.

I bought DH a solid silver letter opener. Sounds boring but he's stoked with it. Hopefully it will become an heirloom. Now to find him the perfect desk for his new office.

I also bought him a signed copy of Terry Jones' Evil Machines which was a project through Unbound.

19 year old sister - foot spa and hamper with creams, polishes (everything - was too heavy to mail lol) steam mop
    Her DP - a BBQ
My DP - Seaplane trip up the coast and Halo for xbox 360.

Mum and dad - a new dining setting, huge fish tank and fish, huge candle (it has 3 wicks lol) and a fire place thing where you put kerosene in it and light it.
