Default AR formulas and constipation opinions

So bub has been diagnosed with silent reflux. We made the big decision to put him on formula as it would help all of us cope. He is on losec daily, and as soon as we switched him onto s26-AR he magically turned into a non-screaming happy sleeping angel! We actually have smiles starting now..

Only problem is, yes you guessed it, constipation. He is having ALOT of trouble pooing and when he does it's a life's struggle and he poos logs! I hate seeing him so uncomfortable and occasionally in pain from being backed up. (using coloxyl in between to help a little but not enough)

He's been on the formula for 2 weeks, so we could see if he would adjust but it seems he isn't.

So my question is, out of the other available formulas AR, which ones in your situation worked the best for reflux without the hard poos? I don't want to switch him on too many as this can really cause havoc on his system.

    Novolac AR
    Enfamil AR
    Karicare AR
    Nan AR

Out of the above which worked best for you

    Thanks!

    Nat and little constipated Eli

Nan AR is popular with a few friends who have reflux babies and poop issues

I have weaned DD2 off the boob and onto formula for the very same reason. We've been using Novalac AR formula. Sometimes she has fairly solid poos and has to work a little to get it out but for the most part constipation doesn't seem to be a big issue.

Thanks guys for your replies I'm thinking after doing a little more reading I might try the nan AR, but apparently it's a little difficult to find a chemist that stocks it. I might do a bit of running around and make some phone calls if I cant find it.
Bub is pooing everyday, but I'm just not happy with the iron content in s26 AR making his poos like logs..

    Anyone else had any suggestions?

Nan AR worked for us - Chemist Warehouse and Wizard Warehouse always had it.

Ok so got a tin of nan AR, going to see how it goes! Using the rest of the s26 tin first (2-3 feeds left) and then give a nan bottle... Wish me luck! I'll let you know if it works.
