We resisted the urge to go overboard this year beacause DH & i just got back from holidays & while we were up there we bought them a heap of stuff which was 'supposed' to be for xmas but we ended up giving it to them when we got back lol so here's what they will be getting for xmas (had to rush out at the last minute & do the xmas shopping )

Belly baby (due 18th May 2012)

Got some gorgeous baby stuff from babies r us (while we were away) including a cot, rocker, tummy mat, toys, avent starter kit & an oricom monitor (very pricey but DH insisted)

    Step - daughter

    Ipod dock/speakers
    Pink hair straightener
Makeup bag (i'm tired of finding her makeup everywhere lol)
She also got gel nails done as part of her xmas pressie

    DD1

Portable CD player & CD's (so she can listen to music in the car, thought she was a bit young for an ipod)
    Huge playdough set
Barbie california dream house (from santa, which i will be setting up tonight)
    Barbie's & barbie clothes

    DD2

A really cool trike & some other doll stuff

Didn't do stockings this year as most of the stuff that's in them gets lost/broken before new year's

From us (we always give him one present and everything else is from father Christmas)

A star wars clone wars helmet thing that makes sounds (?!)

    From Father Christmas

Lego star wars pod racers (main present)
    Ben 10 figures
    Clone wars duvet cover
    Sonic the hedgehog money box
    Darth vader watch
    Lego yoda figurine
Wind up chewbacca and darth vader (star wars obsessed child!)
    A couple of books
    A Transformer

Stocking fillers - stickers, chocolate coins, socks

He's done well this Christmas as there's a reward scheme in Tesco, one of the big supermarkets over here, which gives you vouchers to spend in store each quarter. I saved some for Christmas presents and they also doubled them up on toys this year so most of the toys cost us nothing in cold hard cash

Omg i just put presents under the tree and now reading this thread has left me feeling like Scrooge. We really struggled to think of presents that they will actually use (past history and not playing with toys!) and now I feel bad. If I could go shopping now I think I would . I can only hope what we got they like.

Don't feel bad, kids don't need a million toys
My kids only got a couple of things and i consider it more than enough. Anything more and it would end up unused clutter and waste.
Don't worry about what other people do - i am sure your kids will be thrilled on Christmas morning.

    From us:
DD1- A laptop (because 1 computer for 3 kids & me LOL just didn't work especially with DD1 in High school) and a dress.
DD2 & DD3- Old laptop to share and a dress each.

    From each other:
So, cute. They had a budget of $15 per person and did really well. There is a lap desk thingy with colouring book and pencils, pillow pets, pencils, note books and erasers and zhu zhu pet stroller thingys which DD1 found for her sisters for only $2.50. I can't remember what else because I wasn't meant to be looking as my presents were in the trolley too.

    From Santa:
pencils, textas. highlighters & colouring books
    DD2 & DD3 got cheapie pencil cases
    zhu zhu pets
    zhu zhu babies
    zhu zhu outfits
    2 DS games each
hoola hoop hop scotch game thingy
    golf game
large moxie (I think or similar) doll with accessories and wig etc bought during the year at a huge bargain
doona cover sets and sheets sets
    DD1 another dress
    DD2 & DD3 shorts and top
    DD2 & DD3 lunch box and esky
    Book each

    I can't think what else.

Oh, and the whole family are getting camping mattresses

I can't wait until DD1 opens her present from grandma though! She thinks she's just getting a normal small present of some kind. (We usually spend about $30) But after grandma spoilt her sisters last month for their birthday she decided to get something extra special for her as well and she is getting an ipod touch. She is going to be SO excited. She has already mentioned to grandma that she has saved up some pocket money and would like to go shopping for a few things before we go away. She wants to buy herself an mp3 player she saw which was cheap/ Oh, and Aunty will be giving her present to DD1 after grandma and it's an itunes giftcard.
