Question C-Section At Nambour General Hospital??

I've just found out today from my ob that due to my grade 3 placenta praevia I won't be able to have my caesar at Selangor and will be going to Nambour General. In a bit of shock as I am 37 weeks pregnant and had a date set for the caesar and everything..but because Selangor no longer has an ICU my ob doesn't want to risk it.

Has anyone had a caesar at Nambour General recently?
    What was your experience like?
Do they encourage skin to skin time straight away?
Does bub go with you to recovery so you can try breastfeeding straight away?
Are there private rooms available and can your husband/partner stay with you?
How long did they keep you in for?

Sorry for all the questions but my head is spinning with this change of plans and I know nothing about this hospital!!

    Thanks.

Hey hon, so sorry to hear about the stress

You can do a birth plan for wherever you go - public or private. Ask if you can discuss it with someone first. Especially since youve had a private Ob they can probably guide you on this.

I know two friends who have had csecs there. I don't know exact details but they both said they were a positive experience good luck xx

Thanks. Hopefully Kylie will still be performing the caesar so hoping I can still have the things I want after..but just not sure if the hospital has different policies on things.

I have heard that with elective c/s that you usually bub goes into recovery with you as they make sure they have enough staff on if you need to ease your mind just give them a call
also provided all goes to plan(no complications etc) you should be able to transfer back to your private hospital for your main recovery. The same day or day after your surgery. Call your private hospital an check to see if the allow this.
