For those of you with little girls who have had UTI's in the past, what are the signs to look out for?
My little girl is complaining of a "sore bum" pointing to her pubic area. I'm not sure if it's nappy rash or a UTI so Ive applied some sudocream to relieve any discomfort and she is having a nap at the moment. Hopefully when she wakes up its all better.
The thing that concerns me is that she said "ouch" when weeing in the potty and has only been complaining since then so im wondering if she has a UTI. The wee was a tiny one, perhaps because she didnt really need to go and only did it because I was pestering her. She is new to potty training and I caught her trying to wipe after a poo yesterday so im a bit concerned that she has wiped forward rather than back.
She hasnt got a fever and doesnt seem to be in any discomfort except for having a "sore bum". Maybe the wee just burned her a little if her privates are sore for some reason.
If she keeps complaining I will take her to the doctor as she had a UTI when she was 1, which caused a really high fever and was confirmed to be e. colli. They did a scan last time to check that her urinary tract was formed properly and it was all normal.
I just dont know what the signs are in really small kids as she was really a baby last time and if it hadnt been for the fever I wouldnt have had a clue.
My daughter is 2.
