    Default Oral treatment for thrush?

    Hi ladies,

I am certain I have thrush in my nipple the pain is unbearable. I am putting dactarin gel on it but it seems to be getting worse

I have read about using Fluconazole oral to clear it up but my pharmacist said I couldn't use it while breastfeeding?

Help?? I think my nipple is going to fall off!!!!!

You need to cut all sugar out of your diet ASAP, that feeds the thrush. So no fruit, bread etc. stick to meat and veggies and cheese. That will help to clear it up sooner

    Thanks.

I have said goodbye to sugar for now and started some inner health plus.

I read about taking Diflucin (sp?) One on the royal women's hospital website so I may do that today, the topical treatment is just not working!

Sorry to shamelessly bump this again but I'm not coping too well with this pain . I feel like I would rather go through labour again than feed DS . Now DS has a nasty nappy rash that I am assuming is fungal.

Anyone else beaten this and have any other ideas?

So far I am using daktarin gel on bubs and the nipple, taking inner health plus and putting canesten on bubs nappy rash. Not improving.

No ideas sorry. Daktarin worked for me. I've heard you can take the tablet for va.gin@l thrush?

Thanks Majestic. I had heard that about the v thrush tablet as well, but the pharmacist told me I couldn't take it while b'feeding so I'm a bit confused? Was hoping someone may have taken it here or been recommended something by their doc. I may go and find another GP today because mine couldn't suggest anything other than canesten cream. Would love to be at least improving by Christmas!
