    Default Alcohol after birth?

I was just thinking Christmas, and that I'll probably have a drink or 2, but DH will probably end up drinking more, and I'll drive.
I'm not talking about getting wiped out (unless you did), but how long after having bub did you have alcohol, and was it for an occasion, or just to relax?

Bubs was 8 weeks old and I had expressed milk ready. It was 2 glasses of wine after dinner. I checked the aba website and waited 6 hours before breastfeeding.
It was a once of for a family members birthday.
My midwife that I saw after the birth said its perfectly fine. And that you shouldn't have to miss out on life because you are BF.

Ummm... The hospital gave me a piccolo bottle of white wine on my second night in hospital. I had a sip only because I'm a two pot screamer at the best of times, let alone after giving birth and little sleep.

The day after... A close friend had her DD 3 days before me and we had shared a bottle of moet to celebrate the birth of our girls.

Hmmm, I am still waiting and my daughter is 13 months as I don't drink and breastfeed and am pregnant again anyway. In fact, it would be well over 2.5 years ago, but I may as well be a tee-totaller for the amount or lack thereof I drink when I'm not pregnant or nursing.

When DS was about 6 weeks for a close friends 40th. I had expressed enough for the night and pumped and dumped.

I had issues with my milk supply and was conscious that alcohol can inhibit milk production so limited my intake till I stopped feeding.

I can't remember when I first had a drink after giving birth, but once bin started sleeping a few hours straight of an evening (around 7 months), I have started having one or two glasses of wine after he goes to sleep. I'm sure there have been occasions he has had slightly alcoholic booby milk but it wouldn't be often and it wouldn't be much.

Probably a couple of weeks after birth. I try to wait two hours after a glass of wine before BFing. The occasion was simply that I finally got to have a wine again!! Now that she sleeps overnight, I sometimes have one in the evening once she's in bed. Yum :-)
