Default HUGE amounts of ear wax!

DD 4 months has massive amounts of ear wax - so much that every day I wipe it from her outer ear - I don't even have that much ear wax in a month!

She keeps getting ear infections and the doctor's haven't said anything about her ear wax so is it normal for young babies to get so much???

Im not sure about the ear infections but just wanted to put your mind at ease and say that I have an almost 4 month old DS and he has the exact same problems with crazy amounts of ear wax in his outer ears. Like we have to clean them everyday or it looks really gross. He's just recently had his ears checked and he hasnt had any ear problems so i cant comment on wether the two are linked. Just thought i would give you some reassurance. Could be something, could be nothing lol

my gp told us that when bubs has a temp (which they most likely will with ear infections) that it disolves the wax and that is why it comes out in clumps - this happened with DS when he was younger and still sometimes now

according to the ENT DD1 see's some kids and adults just produce more ear wax than others.
if its not accompanied by infection then just leave it be and clean as needex

Lots here too, but I always figured it was related to the fact that she ends up with a lot of breastmilk dribbling down the side of her face and into her ear (she's a messy eater!).

How many ear infections?? DD2 had that many ear infections that I rang an ENT to ask what they think n they said bring her in ASAP n she had grommets a few days later.. She was 5months.. DD3 had heaps of ear wax but thought no ear infections so took her to ENT to have ears cleaned and under the wax was really infected ears so grommets for her also..

I wouldnt be worried about too much wax. Just clean the outside of the ear as needed
