Default Lots of Positive Digital OPK's... am worried, please help

    Hi Ladies,

I'm a little confused and now concerned about what's happening with me.

In a nutshell.... I have been using Clearblue Digital OPK's, because my cycle last month was a bit all over the place I made the decision to use one everyday this cycle so I would have an accurate summary of what was happening in case I needed to go back to discuss with the doctor.

I began testing at CD4 as soon as my AF stopped. I had -OPK's until CD17 on which I got a smiley face in the afternoon (the saturday just gone and DTD for the following 3 nights). Because I was concerned about my cycle from the previous months I continued to test with the OPK's then last night (DPO3 and this morning DPO4) I have had two positive smiley faces again!

Surely it would be way, way too early for my body to picking up on any pregnancy hormones that would give the digi opk a positive reading and so because I am having such random positive results am worried about PCOS?? I didn't think it would still read a positive OPK over a 4 day period?

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Thanks sooooooooo much in advance for any replies.

The only time I have experience several days of positive OPKs is when I fell pregnant. BUT, I had my surge, then they went negative again, then positive, so there was a break in-between. Can you get in to talk to your gp? If you are worried at all (and it does sound a hit odd that they have stayed positive for so long), if nothing else it will give you peace of mind.

Hi Lil Miss, thanks so much for replying. I prob didn't explain myself properly but I did have two days in between CD18 & CD19 where it was negative again, then CD20 & CD21 where it was positive again.

How many days in between did yours go negative and at what point should I take a pregnancy test, I thought it would be way too early to take one yet. I have been googling like mad to see if your LH stays elevated if conception is occurring but I cant find any real answers to any of my questions.

I have heard that sometimes your body gears up for ovulation, but then doesn't ovulate, then a few days later it happens again. Mine were negative (after my surge) for maybe 2 weeks (a home preg test had already come back positive). They gradually got darker from about a week after ovulation (the day I got positive HPT). It's best to wait at least 2 weeks from ovulation to do pregnancy test- better still if you can wait until AF is late. But it is possible to get a result at 9dpo, however there is a high chance of a false negative.

    Hope that all makes sense.

Yep, that definitely makes sense hun and it would seem a second surge would be the most logical explanation at the moment... really hoping there is nothing more sinister going on. Will just get through this cycle and take it from there.

Back to DTD we go... lol

    Thanks heaps x

I was similar to pp. I had ovulated 4 days after my period (cycle out of whack after m/c) but thought it was incorrect so I tested again when I thought I was ovulating about 10 days later & kept getting positives so I decided to do a hpt that was positive.
