I think I read somewhere that the contractions of everything can be similar to what an orgasm does to your muscles and that in combination with the pressure on your cervix triggers this. It's meant to be extremely rare, something like 0.01%.

Try looking / reading up the book called Orgasmic Birth.

Considering that from conception to birth there is a strong link to sexuality, if there are positive factors in play, it is quite possible - and shouldn't be frowned up.

This is what it was like for me. I had a home water birth. DF and I had seen the Orgasmic Birth documentary while I was pregnant and while I thought it was a little extreme (my experience was NOTHING like that woman having such an intense orgasm she was laughing!! ) we took some of what it had said about intimacy and privacy the love hormones on board during my labour, which was easy as far as labour goes, I was lucky. Contractions were no worse than bad period pain I'd had in the past and I didn't even realise I was crowning until I felt his head. I was incredibly relaxed, DF and I were alone for the most part until my midwives arrived when I was pushing, we had blissful one on one time just cuddling and kissing in between contractions.
It's hard to explain, at the stage it felt orgasmic for me, it wasn't painful but it wasn't pleasure either. It felt like the lead up to an orgasm but almost too overwhelming to bear. Next thing I knew he was out!

Someone I know of watched some orgasmic birth DVDs before their home birth to help prepare them for their birth and found it really helpful. Personally, I had never heard about it but it has now got me ingruiged lol maybe something I might look into when my time comes next, whenever that may be (still a long while yet haha) to be honest when I heard it at first I just assumed it meant like positive, happy births kinda thing but know I see it actually is referring to an orgasm. Very interesting but extremely uncommon I would presume! Whilst I loved giving birth although it was a super intense, high pressure feeling and as relaxed as I was, it certainly wouldn't come close to being pleasurable. I guess it is all about state of mind I suppose, right?!

I've heard that kissing, stimulating breasts, cl!toris etc during labour can help 'open' and relax your body 'down there' - kinda makes sense.

If df kissed me, or touched me, during labour I'd have punched him in the head though. Lol. :-/ argh!

So it probably REALLY depends on where your head is at.

I just said to DP "would you want to make out when I was in labour"... His response - "with who - you or the nurse...?". Hmm, definitely not an orgasmic moment!

I've heard of someone that has said they've orgasmed whilst breastfeeding due to the baby sucking. Apparently they freaked out and didn't want to feed anymore.

Oh DP is now trying to clarify that he'd think I'd rip his tongue off if he tried to kiss me when I will be in labour... Uh huh sure!

I have a question about it then - what if you are one of those unlucky ladies who cannot reach orgasm at the g spot or from penetration, but only from clitoral stimulation? Can you still have an orgasmic birth?

Anytime hubby touched me I would scream "stop touching me!" and smack his hand. He was warned. He kept trying to make jokes about being abused but they weren't funny.

Anywhoo... They showed a video in my prebaby class where the lady sounded like she was having an orgasm. Honestly it scared me.

Somehow I didn't find the experience orgasmic. Same body parts, completely different feeling

I know someone who had orgasms when they gave birth to their children. I used to work with her and when I was pg with DD she was telling me all about it.

It actually freaked me right out. IMO I don't want to associate sexual feelings with my children.
