If they don't have a Visa, they are unlawful according to Australian law.
Did you not know that international law trumps this?

We are signatories to the 1951 convention and 1954 and and 1967 protocols. which make us legally bound to help refugees under international Law, no matter what laws we decide as a nation, in a high court they can and should be overturned.

I just think that the government needs to do something to remove the incentive for people to jump on a boat and risk their lives. The people smuggling trade is disgusting (and illegal) and needs to be stopped.
The deaths needs to be stopped.
You need to investigate how many deaths, maimings and rapes occur in refugee camps, how many people are dying from violence, neglect abuse and starvation, how many people are living in despair and wanting to take their own lives due to hoplessness.
I think the people dying on boats is awful, but probably pales in comparison and tells us just how desperate these people must be. Their choices are so limited that they are willing to risk their lives that way. It's their best option, as they see it.

Stopping the boats won't save lives, these people are all ready dying and being murdered and persecuted.

Exactly. And I would rather fill the 14000 spots with these people.

    Are you nagging me?

Maybe you need to read the Migration Act again, along with the Convention.
The Migration Act says it is illegal. It doesn't say that Australia won't give them the rights afforded to them through the Refugee Convention.
