Default Do I have an eating disorder?

So like, Im over weight. As you can see in my sig. However my DP thinks I have an eating disorder. Im hardly ever hungry, so I dont eat breakyfast, normally skip lunch and alot of the times I dont eat the dinner I cook for the kids.

Thats generally WHY Im over weight. When I started this diet ( I havent done it for a while though ) I ate every 3 hours. It was sooo hard because I just dont want to eat.

Is it an eating disorder because I dont eat.... But still fat????

I don't *think* so, but I'd see a GP about it. It doesn't sound 'right' - how long have you eaten this way?

I get like that when I'm stressed. Can go days, weeks without really eating. But I tend to lose weight rapidly doing that. Not on purpose. Like moving interstate I lost 5kgs.

Or have you always just not eaten much?

Thanks for replying. I dont know how long for. Pretty much as long as I have been cooking for myself. I have to force myself to eat. Like just now I have didnt want to eat dinner but my DP 'made' me. I was happy just to have a coffee.

I dont really WANT to see a doctor because I know they will just tell me to eat properlly and exercise blah blah blah.

Do you think it's in your head? As in... You don't eat for emotional/psychological reasons?

Maybe get a referral to talk to a psychologist? Or see a therapist? And talk about why it might be happening?

It could just be 'normal' for your body? Do you generally have energy, sleep well, wake up feeling rested (within reason, life's hard)

I'd see a doctor. There could be underlying reasons that could be making you like this, thyroid issues etc.

Do you take multi-V or supplements as well? Because of your not eating much your body probably isn't getting all it needs? Or maybe try one of those meal replacement programs, bizarrely to increase your calorie intake, if eating & food gives you no pleasure, maybe just get into the habit of having those so your body has more to sustain it?

Sorry, just thinking out loud really - I could be WAY off.

Nah, I have depression and anxiety. Always tierd, snappy, never want to do anything. Its been getting a bit worse lately though. I dont know why because Im so happy with my life right now. Anyways, thats not the topic

I dont really know why its like this. Normally Im quite intuned with my subconcious. I know myself. This... I just put it down to not hungry. I never thought of it as anything else until he said something. I just feel awekward now thinking of it The idea that I might not know something is wrong...

I am the same. Today i have not eaten. All i ate yesterday was some.cereal for lunch and that was it as i didnt eat dinner the night before.

My doctor has sent me off to a dietian but i havent gone as of yet.

I dont think its an eating disorder.you have. I think its possibly because you have grown out of eating you just dont want to eat. Thats how i am anyway.

I hope everything is ok though.

Im the same. I have breakfast and dinner but skip everything in between. I have to set an alarm to remind myself to eat lunch (and morning tea and afternoon tea).

My personal trainer told me to have 5 small meals a day as having just the two will make my body store fat reserves.

I also have trouble drinking water, i set my alarm for food and drink 250ml of water at the same time to get my 2L a day.

I had the same sort of problem about 8yrs ago. I just stopped eating while my (ex) DP was away as i didnt want to cook just for me. I dropped 8kg in 5wks and was about 55kg (Im 173cm tall, so i was really underweight). It took a while to be able to eat again. It happened again about 5yrs ago. I just forgot to eat. I dropped about 10kg and was back to 55kg. My stomach had shrunk and i wasnt able to eat more than 2 bites at a time.

If i were you id go to the Dr. It may be something, or it may be nothing
