Although I know I am not supposed to admit this, I downloaded over 300 books for kindle from torrents.
Some of them have little errors in the spelling etc but not something you cant skim over.
I have gotten all of James Patterson and so many others. Jodi picult, Jane Austin, Janet evanovich, John grisham the list goes on.
I love it. I have has mine for just over 2 weeks and I am on my 6th book

I have the keyboard with wifi and 3g. I bought one without 3g for DD1. Definitely go for the 3G version. Means you are constantly connected to the kindle store rather than having to wait to be in wifi range.

I've got a keyboard wifi only version and love it. If you've got wifi set up at home I can't see why you would need 3G unless you can't wait until you are home to buy a particular book. If you don't have wifi however you either need to buy the 3G version or get a wifi modem for home

I got my kindle about a week ago now. I am not entirely in love with it, but i have no time to read atm. Also I do cherish my Australian books and not only is it very light on them but my "alternate sources" are even worse.

I've got the Kindle Touch and love it. I didn't get the 3G one, as I couldn't see the point. We have Wifi at home, and any hotel we're staying in has it. I only really use it for travelling, so I tend to load it up before I go somewhere, and then can always add to it from the hotel if needed.

I've got the keyboard with WiFi only. I use the WiFi we've got setup at home and don't really do much browsing away from home as my travel days are on a long hiatus at the moment.

The touch wasn't available in Australia when I bought my keyboard, but if I was buying now I would go with the touch.
