Understanding Carers allowance/payment backdating??

Hi

Just want to get some info as a friend has told me that I will be back paid 13 weeks from the 23rd of November which was the day I rang up to the the forms sent out, if my claim is successful. Just wanted to know if this is a false statement?

I'm pretty sure that's right (but don't quote me)... once you give a notice of intention to claim and your application is successful then they pay you from the time you gave them notice.

Sorry but we were told same thing- there is a12week limit so they will re-do date. They did on us:-( keep on them so they don't!!!

I only put in the doctors medical report on the 16th and I checked my account this morning and the Carers Allowance has been granted. I thought that this would take to the end of next month

Sometimes you get really lucky and they are fast other times you're waiting forever.. When DD1 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes it only took 2 weeks for payments n her HCC to start..
