Default How did your labour start?

Hi ladies, Im now 40 weeks and 4 days, and am obviously very very over being pregnant and wishing I was in labour! lol.
I was just wondering, how did your labour start? Did it start suddenly as strong contractions? as period like pain? back pain? Im finding im looking for any sign of labour starting at the moment! The most Ive had is regular stronger braxton hicks over the last few days, oh and I lost my mucous plus over a few days too lol. Was just curious how other labours started Im hoping its my turn very soon!

I was sleeping all 3 times, woke up with mild pains and just *knew*

Actually the last time I was getting a bit over it, was 41+3, had gone to see an independent midwife because I felt the need to connect with someone (we were having an unassisted pregnancy/birth) she told me of a client who was getting on in gestation and well they set everything up for the homebirth, and filled up the pool and just decided to go into labour and it worked, which is what I thought I would do so we went home and I decided to nap first as I was tired because I wasn't sleeping much and I woke up in labour, true story

DS1, 20min contrx over night(41wks) that went down to 5min contrx in the morning(41+1kwks), he was born the next morning (had 8wks Irritable Uterus before hand) (41+2wks)

DS2 silent labour from approx 10-11am (3min contrx that were painless). At about 8pm then got 'painful' (8/10 on pain scale). We went to hospital at 930pm he was born 1.5hrs later at 41+2wks

DD1 first contraction at 6.30am, and every 3 minutes after that! waters broke as they were pulling me out of the Ambo at the hospital at 7.00am

DD2 first contraction at 11.30am and again were straight to 3 minutes. Walked myself to hospital on the other side of town. Waters broke at 12.00, just as I got into the birth suite, she was born at 1.33pm.

Mine started as a dull cramp - I went to the shops and for a long walk and then the pain became more intense. Only became actual contractions much later.

I woke from my sleep to pee in the early morning and my waters broke on the toilet. Contractions followed soon after. It happened the exact same way with both labours

all 3 started with period pain type contractions - DS3 i didn't even realize it was labour (thought it was more pre labour) for 8 hours - then it got really painful suddenly - he was born in an ambulance

This time im going to be on the lookout for the tiniest niggle!

I had painless pre labour for a few days (dilated to 3 cm), then at 41 weeks my contractions started suddenly at 2 minutes apart and DD was born within a couple of hours.

DS was induced by ARM at 42 weeks.

    Hi
I feel for you, I was 5 days past my due date when, at around 3am, I began noticing a lingering dull ache in both my back/lower stomach. I timed them and they were 15 minutes apart exactly.. this went on until around 8am when I decided to wake hubby and get ready for the hospital. Like another poster said, you just "know". My waters never broke and I didn't have a "show" either. The midwives had to break my waters at the hospital. My labour progressed normally and my DS was born almost 24 hours to on the dot since I noticed that very first contraction.. he was born at almost 3am the next morning

How exciting for you!!! It's almost time!! Good luck xo
