Default My 9 month old has an infected nipple???

    Hi everyone,
I just noticed that my DD has a red swollen and sore nipple. It feels like it has a big lump behind it and looks like the head of a pimple right in the centre of her nipple, so I'm thinking there is an infection there... She also feels like she has a temp another reason to think infection.

I will take her to the dr tomorrow, but any suggestions on what to do overnight?

Are you assuming it's sore or you know it is? Because it's actually very normal for babies to get lumps under their breast tissue in the first 12mths, however they aren't painful and need no treatment (google for info).

So if your bubs is actually sore then definitely need to get checked out. Hope everything is ok *hugs*

Hi Hun sorry to hear your DD has the lumps

My DS had lumps when he was around 2mths old however they didn't look like a pimple head. I had them checked at the doctors because a friend of mines little boy had mastitis, I know my jaw dropped when I heard that, apparently it has something to do with the hormones left over from birth etc. he was around 6-8 mths when it was diagnosed, so its great you are getting it checked out hun.

Wow, had no idea boys could get that!! My DS had a lump under his right breast for about 4 weeks, but it's faded to almost nothing now. Yes you're right on the hormones from birth too 
