Oh really, that's good to know! I'll look into it a bit more, see what models they are and how much etc. I was looking at the i30 and on Hyundais website it said it comes with two points only. We are looking for a new car and even though we don't need 3 points, it might be a good idea if it's in our price range. And given how lax DP is about contraception we might need the third point sooner than expected haha
hmm.. maybe there are on 2 then? I've just been told that Hyundai's come with 3 but as i said i haven't looked into it. I know it definietly has isofix as there are little isofix tags on the back seats... have never counted them though. Might go outside and have a look..

When 2013 rolls around, you can use ISOFIX, legally.

    What model do you have?

An x1. It had boot space for dogs without being too big for Sydney street parking. I doubt it would be easy to fit three car seats across the back, but technically possible I guess.

ISOFIX has been coming to Aust for years but we are still waiting much safer and so much easier to install

I have heard of a few parents purchasing seats from overseas but no way as it does not meet aust standards

The problem is AUst standards are in the dark ages & ISOFIX exceeds them.

It's weird. I've just been reading about it after reading this thread. I had no idea how behind we were.

We just purchased a 2011 Mitsubishi outlander and it has three points. Pretty sure we could fit three seats if we tried. Also, if you are looking for a bigger car but don't want to pay for 4wd purchase them in 2wd. You won't be able to go "off road" but if it's just the space you want, then it's worth saving the $10k for 2wd model.
