    Default Cots?

I bought a cot off eBay. I don't like it at all but can't do anything about it. It doesn't have the bed that can rise up so I can put baby in there when he out grows the bassinet! Is this a problem!? Also I can't get the stupid hand rail down also it stinks like chemicals :-( the mattress it came with too is crapola!! Also the mattress doesn't fit real snug in the cot and that's worrying me.

what you can do is buy another mattress to put on top of the mattress that came with the cot to raise the height which should help to get baby in and out easier, you can get a mattress from target for $60 which is quite cheap compared to other stores , and as for the smell of chemicals you can wipe the frame with baby wipes , and you can sprinkle baking soda on the mattress and leave for an hour then vacuum it should remove the smell , i hope this helps

Did you know that the mattress didn't fit, side rail didn't come down and mattress height couldn't be changed when you bought the cot? If not then id be sending it back and asking for my money back. They aren't big problems as pp said you could buy another mattress that does fit to put on top of the other mattress to raise the height but if the cot wasn't as described I wouldn't be happy and be returning it.

Also I wouldn't use the mattress that came with the cot at all. Not fitting snug with the cot is a SIDS risk. Was the cot new or second hand?
