    Default Gift Ettiquette

This is one I really struggle with. Now that we have kids a few people buy for our kids (when never did presents pre kids) and I am always unsure whether I should now start buying them a gift (they don't have kids) or just keep it all about the kids and buy a gift for their children once they have them? We aren't extremely close - see each other every couple of months for dinner.

I think keep it to kids. With our friends we always buy their kids presents but would not expect/want anything in return.

I think just leave things as they are and offer a very sincere thanks. I don't give to other peoples kids with the thought of getting something back.
