    Default Membrane Sweep

    Hi ladies!
My due date is tommorow! Today at about 1130am I had a membrane sweep, all I had afterwards was some period like cramping and lots of pressure down in my pelvis and braxton hicks. About 2 hours ago I went to the toilet, and there was some brown mucousy discharge (which I know is normal after a sweep- but is it usually that delayed after?).
My question, have you ever had a membrane sweep, did you have the browny discharge after, and did labour start soon after? Im assuming the discharge is my plug with a show (which has to be a good thing!).
    Thanks everyone

I had a stretch and sweep at 38+3 and 39+3 as it was my second bub and I had been in prelabour for 3 weeks and was 2-3cm dilated already. The first S&S just aggravated my cervix and gave me heaps of Braxton Hicks and although I was SURE I would have bub the next day, I didn't. The next S&S at 39+3 and I went into labour that night and had bub the next day. My OB said that only 25% of women will go into labour after a S&S. He thought I would be part of that 25% as I was very *favourable*, and I guess I was after the second one!

I had some pale pale brown, and greenish, quite watery mucous after my S&S's.

Fingers crossed for you!! DTD and go for a walk to get it all going

does anyone know, is the brown mucousy discharge you experience after a membrane sweep a proper 'show' (meaning the membrane sweep worked) or just irritation from the procedure?

I had 5 with DS1 while I was 3 cm dilated over the course of 2 weeks, my last one on a Friday and hews born on the following Tuesday so they didn't do anything for me but make me feel like my body wasn't working. Didn't have any for my following 2 births, my next child was born at the same gestation 40+3 and my last at 41+3.

I also had a S&S on my due date. I did have a show (Mucousy brown discharge) a day or so later but all i got there after were braxton hicks. On my 10 day overdue, i was induced. Here's hoping i dont need a S&S for my next bub due in May because it hurt like HELLLLL!!!!

I had a S&S at 38 weeks and I had contractions that night but they were on and off. I was induced the next day so it didn't do much for me.
