Default For those TTC: Does anyone keep a treasure chest?

You know... a treasure chest filled with stuff you have the intention to either pass down to a potential baby or stuff you've bought esp for the baby even though they haven't been conceived yet.

I've got some clothes mum's given me, a pair of white shoes I wore as a flower girl at age 3, toys which I loved or toys that I've inherited (for example: I gave my Grandmother a teddy bear one year as she was declining into dementia which she treated as a baby. after she passed away I inherited the bear) I've bought the odd thing here or there that was a bargain and tooo cute... (for instance, we were in Japan and I bought a few things from Studio Ghibli which you can't buy here)

but I don't yet have the baby to give this box too...

What about you ladies, have you got a chest, a whole room or anything at all dedicated to this stuff?

Is it wishful/positive thinking or form of hoarding?

I do have a small box. With various unisex clothes and toys I feel in love with. Think I majority of it I have bought specially but I have a few odd thing handed down from my parents and myself. It seems too full of pregnancy magazines

I've got a "girls glory box" There are just little bits and pieces, A nice handknitted blanket and booties from when I was a baby, a silver rattle and also my christining dress and then a few bits and pieces I have brought over the years, some cute headbands, outfits and cloth nappies and an adorable handcrafter dolly - I figure even if I never have a girl it's something I could pass down to a future grandaughter. I already have 2 boys, but never had anything like this for them, I guess being a female, I had nothing sentimental I could really pass onto them. I am all set up if I ever have another boy. But I long for a daughter so if I see something adorable I tend to buy it and add it to my box.

To be honest, I have a whole draw... I got given a whole bunch of girl clothes from someone I used to work with because I was moving in with my partner. Thought she was weird but then a month later I got pregnant, I had a miscarriage but we're trying again and last month I actually updated it with some new things, some unisex singlets and jumpsuits that were on sale and one of those Amber bead necklaces because I liked them. I'm a total weirdo right???
