Well we will be back on the wagon soon to start #8 with a twist. We have an appointment with Wazza tomorrow with my WONDERFUL sister and her fiancé. And seeing as we are going by her cycle this time she should start jabbing at the end of this month. I am still in awe of her and cannot believe what she is willing to put herself through to help us get a baby. She is truly my angel. I'm so excited and nervous for this new start.

Hi girls, hope you don't mind me doing a quick update in here, you were all so supportive during my IVF journey. We had a scan on Tuesday and saw a heartbeat! I'll be eight weeks pregnant on Saturday and our baby is due on 16th March. DH and I are so thrilled, we still can't believe it really.

Wishing you all the very best of luck as you progress with your journeys, I am so looking forward to reading pregnancy announcements from each of you and am crossing everything

Hello inspirational women. I have been learning so much from all of you. Thank you for sharing your highs and lows of such an intimate part of your lives. It has really helped me with my journey, even though it has just began.

I am commencing my first ever cycle of IVF/ICSI. I have been sniffing and injecting. I had a scan this morning and looks like 10 eggs ready to go for egg pick up on Monday and transfer next Saturday. It is an exciting time for us. We are ready to move forward in a positive direction.

    About me/us:-
We have been very, very lucky to be blessed with one child who was 'a miracle that slipped through' according to our fertility specialist. He is nearly two years now and we desperatly want a brother or sister for him. We did conceive last November only to find out it was an ectopic pregnancy. A few days before Christmas I had surgery to remove our little baby who didnt quite make it to the right place and had my right tube removed. It was a horrible time and still is a little raw. We then tried unsuccessfully for 6 months to fall, this lead us to Wazza who came highly recommended. He told me i had PCOS which i was pretty shocked to find out about. I am luckly fairly asympotmatic with it, apart from inferility! He recommended to go straight into IVF/ICSI and skip everything else given my age and history. I feel really blessed to start IVF with him at the reigns, and hope he can assist us with another miracle. I am praying to each and every God and deity to listen and grant us our dream. Time will soon tell if our prayer has been answered.

Hi squeak, 9 follies sounds like a pretty good number to get in your scan. I always seem to get a few more at EPU then what my scans show. My last one the estimate at my last scan was about 12-14 and I got 20 (although only 10 were mature). They can never really tell. Good luck with your EPU!

Bala, welcome! I hope your journey with IVF is short and sweet. I also have PCOS and lucky me I have quite a few of the symptoms. Unfortunately this has also caused me to have a poor egg quality. But apparently that could just be me. So for this cycle (lucky number 8 I hope) we are using my sister as an egg donor. Good luck with your upcoming cycle. There are plenty of knowledgable woman on here that can answer any weird and wonderful questions you may have. Or even if you just need a place to just let it all out.

Ktking we have been told by wazza that we should start seriously thinking about a donor! Can I ask how long the counseling process takes!

Hi squeak, We have all our appointments today Dr DeAmbrosis at 8am, QFG at 9am, then the councillor at 11am. I'm not sure if it's different if it's anonymous donor though. The appointments are for DH and I, my sister and her fiancé. They said they are all just to make us 100% aware of all the ups and downs and what to expect. I have to say the thought of going through this without having to go for an EPU is really weird. I'll tell you now it has been a long road for us to end up making the decision to go donor. But after so many heartbreaks, it just felt like the right thing to do. I know I wasn't ready to make this decision on any of my previous cycles. In my gut I know this is the way it's meant to be.

Tooty that is fantastic news congratulations

Squeak 9 is great. My scan looked like a dozen EPU yesterday got 10 with 7 fertilised today. I normally get double that so I'm thrilled and freaked at the same time.

Kt you have an amazing sister to give you such a wonderful gift.

Loveabug - congrats on being Pupo. Fingers crossed this is the cycle you have a wonderful result from.

KT - you have the most amazing sister - I hope that this brings you lots of good news.

Emmylou - we had counselling late last year for donor sperm - we had to go through two sessions with both of us there. They were only about 1 hour each. From what he told us anonymous donor that is all that is required as long as you are cleared. With known donor I think they have a couple more sessions both together and apart. But that may be different for different clinics.

bala - good luck with your cycle, I hope that your stay here is short and sweet.

Squeak - 9 is good - how are you feeling? When is your next scan?

AFM: we got our chromosonal results back which showed that Bubble had trisomy 16. On the updside it now looks like my body is raring to get a good emby inserted and fingers crossed our result will be different next time. DH and I are both going to eat super healthy for the next few months and hopefully try again before the end of the year.
