Muzzy- welcome, hope the rest of your TWW goes really well and you hear some good news soon. I am 31 btw

Can I ask who sees acupuncturist or cinese herbalists and how do u find it? I have read some posts re these things, I have been having acupuncture for over a yr but he said his main focus is to thicken the lining of the uterus and I only see him once a month, when I had transfers he didn't say to have an appointment then afterwards said it would have been helpful?? I'm wondering if I should see someone else, he doesn't seen very dedicated to my goal!

I have been thinking of seeing a Chinese herbalist but I'd have to go into the city most likely. I also see a naturopath we had an apt yesterday and she said everything was looking good and hoped we'd conceive naturally in the next few months..... She seems pretty optimistic! I'm not sure about that.

Zakmick- what's wrong with ur knee? Also what are karotype results? I still don't know so much about all the ivf stuff.

Hope everyone is doing well, enjoy the rest of your weekend

Di - where in Melb are you?
My guy wanted to see me once a week for 12 weeks, and straight after a transfer.
My acupuncturist takes 8 weeks to get in with & has a 80-90% success rate within 3 months (well known for pregnancy)

    Hey Di,
I'm seeing a lady in Brunswick, she does cupping, massage, acupuncture as well as herbs. I like her but it's all personal preference, I do know though that the one Marttc speaks of is recommended by Monash IVF. I just couldn't drive that far, and I was then told of the lady I see.

My knee- well where do i start? I have had 9 operations on my knees that included arthroscopes and reconstructions. On my last operation they found that my femur isn't developed properly and doesn't allow a perfect bed for the knee cap to sit in. My knees usually dislocate but with all this trauma in my knees over the years I have minimal cartilage left which causes other problems. Which is what I'm currently suffering from, I have been told I'll need replacements down the track, but I'm just too young for them at the moment. ( it's nice to be too young for something lol)

    Brrrrr it's cold today!!

Di- sorry I forgot to answer your other question. Karotype testing is when they look at the chromosomes
In the blood. DH and I individually have had this done and was all ok, but we asked for the product of conception when I had the d & c to be tested- to see if there is any chromosomal issues when fertilisation occurs. So just waiting for those results now...

MARTTC- I live in hillside out in the western suburbs about 30 min from city (without traffic lol) I did the once a week for 12 weeks back in 2010 and since then only once a month. I did my own research and found out its customary to have an apt day of transfer but he never mentioned that to me so I didn't bother, i guess I need to be more vigilant with what I want and inform myself with research.

Zakmick- I was talking to a CRT today who is also going through ivf and is having a break now and seeing a Chinese herbalist too in Kensington. They are all far! Well I get public transport so it can be a pain, and I'm so time poor with work. I will definitely look into it, I'm already seeing acupuncturist, naturopath and ivf why not add another one to the mix! Hope ur knees holding up, sounds painful! Hope ur test results from the d&c can provide some answers, is that type of testing that u had previously on couples usual? I haven't had that I don't think. The lady at work sees the same doc as me and then changed because he wasn't thorough and didn't run all the tests he's supposed to... Guess I should look into changing too.... Aghhh!

    Freezing isn't it!

Transfer for me Saturday if one of my embies grow to day 5, if one doesn't thaw out I'll be having another 2 day transfer.

Has anyone had acupuncture by Yvonne Roddy I've read she is very good.

ATM I'm having acupuncture by a GP for allergies, I'm not sure yet if it helps but omg it hurts in your face!

How is everyone going in their tww?

Kmvw: praying for a blasty for you!!

Di- the testing on the couples is usually part of the tests they do for recurrent miscarriages and depending what FS you are with they do them after 2 or 3 mc. However I don't think there is any harm in asking for tests, I have recently put a list of tests together from everyone's input on here of what others have had done, which I will be discussing with my FS next apt.

Afm: next apt with FS has been moved to next week as my results are still not back, going in on Wednesday to see surgeon to get my results from the MRI on my knee.

    Marttc,

Are you seeing Bill in Murrumbeena? How did you get this much info out of him? I've been going for 8 weeks now and I think we've said about 20 words to each other! He's not mentioned coming in after transfers - he's hard enough to get in to see as it is. I wasn't aware of his success rate ... will have to keep that in mind. Apparently I worry to much!

    Yeah, that's him.
Haha I know what you mean, his a man of few words but maybe his told me different things cause I also had a miscarriage? I can't remember how the conversation came up of transfers & appointments, he just said call us when you know when it is and come straight down & I'll try fit you in. My friend has been seeing him about 5 months & swears by him... I think he knows what his talking about & he told me about his success rate & my friend told me that also.... :-) maybe ask a few more questions? I ask as much as I can but he told me most things in my first appointment. Has he changed your diet? How long have you been seeing him?

    Hi

yes he said no raw/cold foods or drinks ie salad, cold water etc. I was good for a week or so but have lapsed back into my cold drinks. He also said no pineapple, eggplant or mango.

I might give it another go with the room temp / warm stuff as I'm just leading into my next EPU in the next couple of weeks (hopefully). I've been going for about 8 weeks now and I'm keeping an open mind. I've had acupunture before but nothing quite like seeing Bill...
How about that music they play huh? I'd go batty if I worked on reception there with that on constant rotation, I'm sure it's some sort of mantra or something.
