Hi ladies! How is everyone on this thread? I have gone MIA for a while.

Leannep, how are you going? I dont know where everybody is at at the moment, so.

Angliss13, I remember you. You are such an angel to your friend.

Jack, anytime soon? So exciting! I am wondering if it is boy or girl....

Zakmick, I saw you on the pregnancy thread. Xmas babies!!! Any morning sickness yet?

    Littlefeet, how are you hon?

Sorry if I missed out anybody.

AFM : Well DH and I had the most horrible longest past two weeks cos our NT combined result landed us 1:95 of having a down syndrome baby. It was a medium ratio but still in high risk. Anything from 1:2 to 1:300 is considered high risk. I spent a good week crying and reading up as much as I could. I was an emotional wreck. No doctor we spoke to was willing to assure us of anything except to do a diagnostic test to conclude this. I was in two minds about doing the amnio cos there is a miscarriage risk. When I was at my OB clinic I found myself not able to face a healthy toddler playing near his mother cos I might be carrying a DS baby. That made me decide I would go ahead with the amnio. But I had to ask DH to agree not to blame me if I miscarry a normal child after the amnio. DH was sure he did not want to keep the DS baby and I was dumbfounded.

It was a miserable time waiting. I was scared of the procedure, the miscarriage risk and the results. But I just wanted to get it done and over with so I know for sure. So I did my amnio on Tues got the results on Wed and thank the heavens my baby is OK! Just resting lots at the moment though still dont sleep well. We also got to find out we are having a baby boy! I am almost 16 weeks and I havent told many people about my pregnancy cos I am just scared that something may go wrong. When can I be totally optimistic? Spending so long to get to my dream and so scared of losing it.

That's a summary of my recent rollercoaster ride. I wish for no more and a really smooth remaining of my pregnancy.

I have been around bubhub for a few years but thought I would join this thread as I have just moved to Melbourne ( epping) two weeks ago. DH and I have a beautiful DD who is 3 years and have been TTC another child for 2 years. We have had no luck with chlomid or gonal f and I have been put in the ' unexplained secondary fertility' basket. I saw a lovely GP today who was surprised that I had not had been tested for tubal blockages and suggested Melbourne IVF clinic. I wasnt happy with my last FS as I think she played too many guessing games and didn't take me seriously since we already have a DD and I am only 25. She continued to tell me i would be pregnant in no time which gave both false hope and I think was quite unprofessional. I had been ready to give up on having another baby as I wasn't sure I was ready for the IVF road but have now decided that I need a second opinion before I can be comfortable making any more decisions. Would love to head from anyone who has used the Melbourne IVF clinic or any other recommendations ( or places to avoid). also if anyone can tell me a big more about what tests they have had when diagnosing their infertility so I can make sure FS is being thorough would be great. any info on what exactly the tubal blockage test involves would be great also. lots of questions I know but I want to be armed with knowledge this time and not just putting my faith in the professional knowing what's best.
On top of the IM I sent you re my experience with MIVF - tests, well my gp did a blood test on me for ovulation/thyroid etc & an internal ultrasound - DH SA.... Came back abnormal sperm morphology!
Our FS has not done any further testing other than one more SA that's it?! :-(

    Hi ladies

just wanted to jump on & say hi. Sorry it has been a while since i was last on.

Jack- all the best for the safe arrival your little one in a few wks!

Zakmik - Congrats on your pregnancy!

Mom2oneds - i particularly wanted to jump on & say that i can totally relate to what you have just been through as i just went through it. My risk came back 1 - 123 so i opted for the amnio too & had a horrible 3.5wk wait. The worst wait ever, didn't sleep well & had heaps of things running through my head. Had the test last week & luckily got good results back on Monday. We are having another little girl which is very exciting. I hope we can both relax now & enjoy the rest of our pregnancy.

Apart from the above drama, all is going well done& i love being a mum.

I do read this thread, just don't get much chance to post.

Marttc sorry I just saw your question yes I am very happy with monash I think they are great but I also believe its what fs your seeing that makes a difference. My new fs is very good and I like that he tries something new each time where as my old one who was nice did the same thing every time. Who are u looking at changing too? One of my friends has just changed from mivf to my fs as well
