Zakmick, I thought you are having a stim FET, didnt know you are doing a fresh cycle.

Jacklicky, I know after all the heartaches and horrors of IVF, it is hard not to be wary about every twinge and symptoms. 20 weeks is great progress!

Babyhope, I am so sorry it didnt work. Good that AF is here and HCG zero can your body can recuperate and restart again.

How are things going for you Mom2OndDS. What is your next step (sorry Im sure I should know that)?

I have our work Xmas party today....its at a park and its soooo cloudy here today Im a bit worried its going to rain and Ive only brought a hoodie.....anyhow I hope I can sneak home early and maybe get a nap in.

My darling daughter decided 5am was a good time to come and get in my bed this morning. I think because I have been going to work and leaving her home wiht DH she is worried im going to be gone when she wakes so she keeps coming into my room earlier and earlier so she doesnt miss me....she falls back asleep but I usually am awake by then and cant sleep.

Preg wise yesterday I felt lots of little movements on and off all day....nothing big or major but just little flutters which was nice and a little more reassuring....I will still be happier when I get the scan in 2wks but its nice to feel something.

Pippi, babyhopes, hope you are both taking care of yourselves.

    hi to everyone else!

    Hi everyone

Jacklicky - exciting about baby movement.

Pippi01 - how are you going?

AFM we had EPU yesterday and got 6 eggs. Would have liked more but these things happen. Just got fertilisation results had 4 mature eggs and out of that 3 fertilised overnight - which is our best result ever. This time hubbie had TESA done by FS in his rooms (I believe it is called TESA but they call it biopsy?? essentially they give him local then syringe swimmers out that way. If we have to do another cycle think we will def do it again. CFC charge extra $500 but think it is worth it in the scheme of things. Still feel a bit sore from EPU so not doing much apart from lying on couch today.

Typical of my hubbie - while FS was doing his tesa - hubbie was asking FS about whether he could have coffee - just because I have said no coffee including decaf saying it would affect his results. My FS is a coffee addict and typical said one per day would be fine - grhh!!. I thought if Im not having any then he shouldnt right!!

Hope everyone else has a good day.

Midnite, I was just thinking of you this morning and wondering how you were going! Great to hear that this time's result is best ever. Regarding the TESA, how was the maturity of the sperm retrieved? I asked my DH about doing TESA and he freaks out. I did read that with TESA, it helps to reduce getting sperm with DNA fragmantation. Has your DH done any SCSA?

I am not sure how coffee affect male fertility. I do know my dad drinks coffee a great deal a day and he managed to produce 3 of us in the family. I do know coffee does cause us ladies not to be able to absorb certain supplements properly. I read it somewhere recently but not sure where. I actually had two this whole week hehe...been controlling my urges to drink it.

Jack, I am doing the lap/hyst this Friday. Oh I miss the baby movements! So wonderful that you are having them, a little life in your belly. Hey I read from the other thread that you had a day 2 transferred. I know you were with MIVF. Curious why you transferred on day 2 cos they usually do day 3. Was it cos you needed to travel so you did it earlier?

    Hi ladies

Mom2oneDS- Hope your lap goes well on Friday and you have a speedy recovery. Just in answer to your question to Jack about MIVF, when I was with them I did day 2 transfers as well (so 48 hours following EPU). That is their standard protocol, but they will also do blastocyst or other transfers if there is a good reason (I did a day 5 in my last cycle with them).

Midnite- Good luck with your little embies Bit cheeky of your DH to try to bypass your authority on the coffee issue

Zakmick- Good to hear everything is going well so far with your stim cycle. Are you still freezing all your embies this cycle?

Midnite, well done on your embies...that's a great rate (I never got 50% fertilising). We did a biopsy for DH and got enough swimmers for three trys do DH only had to do it once which Im sure he was glad about....

Mom2OneDS, yeah with MelbIVF they always did day2....I did have two day3 embies transfered but that was only cause my transfer fell on Xmas day last year and they wern't open so had to grow embie out a day...and the other was cause I had one frozen at Day 3 so they grew a Day 2 to Day 3 cause I wanted a double transfer....All my others had been day 2 which I thought was their standard.

Hope your lap goes well too....I think with the maturity of the sperm it can depend on where they can get the sperm from....my very limited knowledge is that the closer they are to the vas (so the tubes where they would eventually get ejaculated) the more mature they are....so if they have to go searching to find some good ones sometimes they are immature....anyhow I think thats how the male fet specialist we saw for DH explained it.

    How are you going Vesper?

I'm doing OK, Jack. I'm just recovering from the worst bout of gastro I've had in years We went to a 1st birthday party on Sunday and of the 9 other people I knew there, 7 got this awful viral gastro!! Super contagious. Hope no one else on here has come in contact with it, the GP said it's going around at present in both kids and adults.

    Hi everyone,

Midnite: great epu and a good fertilisation result...🍀good luck with transfer, when is it? Do you think the protein helped?

Vesper: hope your feeling better, I think pippi got gastro too, and yes still freezing all the embies😃

Mom2one: yes total new cycle for me...good luck for Friday 🍀

AFM: had second scan today, and have about 14 follicles. Starting to feel quite uncomfortable. FS increased puregon to 200 today, but concerned about over stimulating me, so I have to be extra mindful of how I'm feeling..epu is still on schedule for Monday...
Have been feeling nauseous and headachy for days but that doesn't seem to be increasing, only thing tonight took my bra off and my breasts are sore, which could be a sign of OHSS developing. I'll ring FN tomorrow and ask.
Have a great day tomorrow, it's Thursday, yay two more day till the weekend🎉🎉

Hi my ivf buddies! Just woke up from a nice nap....my lap and hyst went fine this AM, still sore now and walking very slowly...the real pain is actually from the GA needle, so painful today I couldn't wait to fall asleep in the theatre...FS says there is no endo and all is fine. But I will see him 3 jan for any details and for result of NK cell testing as well. If all goes ok then lining and immune system shouldnt be a problem for implantation, then our three failures will point to embryo quality more clearly.

Zakmick, hope there won't be OHSS for you. Keep yourself hydrated.

    Hi there

We found with the TESA we got best results and I think because there is a blockage somewhere with hubbie so when he ejaculates for usual sperm sample there is often nothing there even on second try. He didnt mind the needle just said he was a bit uncomfortable. I am not sure if they check for mature sperm but figure they must be to fertilise. We were happy to have 3/4 fertilise so if we have to do it again we probably would.

With hubbie and coffee we figures that because his swimmers are not great anything that we could do to change or improve them we wold do. he has also been taking menevit and coq10 so who knows.

Our transfer is tomorrow am. The clinic rung us today with day 3 results - all 3 were at 8 cell this morning so fingers crossed they keep on doing their thing. I usually have day 3 transfer which would have been today so maybe the extra day might make a difference - we are hoping to transfer 2 this time.

My stomach particularly internal is still sore. have been taking 2 panadol each day but didnt feel like this last time. Last time I thought by 2nd day after EPU I felt right as rain. I started crinone last night and today had stomach cramps which I think is a result of the crinone. And still feel bloated - anyone have any suggestions on how to make it go away. I am currently drinking some powerade to see if it makes a difference.

Have a good start to the weekend all.

Apologies if all about me and no personals - it is our anniversary and I need to find somewhere nice for dinner tonight. I am sure in Melbourne I can find a place!
